MELC: To read the alphabet of English language.

What is an alphabet?

An alphabet is a set of letters or symbols in a fixed order, used to represent the basic
sounds of a language; in particular, the set of letters from A to Z. Examples are your name
and the names of your parents, the name of your school, and the name of your favorite pet.
This is exciting to learn from everything we see are full of names. Once you master the
alphabet, you can now read and write the words you encounter in your daily activities.

The English alphabet is composed of consonants and vowels. Consonants are the letters
that are not part of the five vowels. To count, there are 26 letters in the alphabet composed
of 21 consonants and 5 vowels. The consonants are b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, q, r, s, t,
v, w, x, y, z, and the vowels are a, e, i, o, u. It is important to know the alphabet in order to
produce the sounds of the letters which helps the learners to develop skills in reading.

Here are some tips on reading the English Alphabet:


1. Sing the Alphabet Song from A-Z
2. Read each letter with proper opening of the mouth to produce the proper sound of
the letter.
3. Practice reading the English Alphabet with your relatives and friends.
