Yes political dynasty exist in the Philippines. One example of this are the Marcos family. The Marcos
relatives retains the position in the Ilocos Norte region because it is their political stronghold since 1925
up today.

Dynasty might not end in an instant but there is a law in our constitution that prohibits political dynasty
like the term limitations. Also there is pending senate bills to be passed in order to avoid the abuse of
power and corruption in the future.

What is the difference between democracy and monarchy?

In Democracy people have the rights to choose their head of the state and the political power
is coming from its people. While in Monarchy all the political power resides within one person
its either the King or Queen known as the “Monarch” and the position will be preceded by their
descendants.

Democracy is still the best type of government, the power is equally divided to its people and
it doesn’t favor the rich over the poor. Everyone have the right to vote, freedom to choose
their head of the state and people can voice out their opinion.
