a) Can you tell me when your symptoms started? / Please tell me when your symptoms started
/ When did you start coughing?
b) Is your cough dry or productive?
c) Are there any other symptoms besides the cough? For example do you have fever or pain in
the limbs/extremities?
d) Are you allergic to any kind of medicine (that you have knowledge of/that you are aware
of)?
e) Ha produktív a köhögése: I suggest that you take / I suggest taking some kind of cough
remedy, for example Ambroxol-teva is a great OTC (Over the counter = vény nélküli)
expectorant. Take 3 pills/tablets a day, always after meals/on a full stomach.
Ha száraz a köhögése: I suggest that you take / I suggest taking ACC 100 effervescent
tablets (pezsgőtabletta) which are really effective against dry cough / which are really good
OTC cough suppressants. Dissolve one tablet in a glass of water, and drink it after meals, 3
times a day.
Ha allergiás: These pills/tablets don’t contain [amire allergiás], so you can take them
without any concern.
f) If your symptoms don’t go away in a couple of days, or you’ll experience side effects,
please seek medical attention / go to see your doctor.
2. Egyik kliensének szemcseppeket írt fel az orvos, azonban a beteg nem biztos benne,
hogyan kell használni, mivel eddig mindig kenőcsöt kapott. Magyarázza el neki
részletesen a cseppek használatát:
a) Hívja fel a beteg figyelmét arra, hogy a szemcsepp használata előtt mossa meg a kezét és
üljön egy tükör elé. Utasítsa a beteget a következőkre:
b) Távolítsa el a kupakot, és vigyázzon, hogy a csepegtető teteje semmivel se érintkezzen.
c) Majd hajtsa hátra a fejét, nézzen felfelé és óvatosan húzza lefelé az alsó szemhéját.
d) Cseppentsen egyet az alsó szemhéj belső felületére, és pislantson néhányszor.
e) Ha ugyanabból a szemcseppből több cseppet kell használnia, vagy másik szemcseppet is írt
fel az orvos, akkor a következő cseppentés előtt várjon néhány percet.
f) Továbbá adjon utasításokat a betegnek a gyógyszer tárolásával kapcsolatban.
g) A fertőzés és szennyeződés veszélye miatt felnyitás után csak négy hétig használja a
cseppeket.
h) Hívja fel a beteg figyelmét arra, hogy ne viseljen kontaktlencsét addig, amíg a cseppeket
használja.
a) First of all, you have to wash your hands before using the eye-drops. Then sit down in front
of a mirror (so you can see what you’re doing).
b) Remove the top from the bottle. Avoid touching the dropper tip against your eye, eyelashes,
or any other surface. / Be careful not to touch the dropper tip against your skin, etc.
c) Tilt your head back and look upwards. Gently pull your lower eyelid down.
d) Hold the dropper above your eye and squeeze one drop inside your lower eyelid. Then blink
a few times (to make sure the whole eye is covered by the liquid).
e) If you need to put in more than one drop, or if you are using another type of eye drop, the
you should wait for a few minutes before putting the next drop in. (Otherwise the first drop
may be washed out by the second one before it has had time to work.)
f) Your eye-drops are free from germs when you receive them and in order to keep them in
good conditions, follow these simple rules:
o When not in use, keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dark place.
o If the dropper is separate, do not put it down on any surface.
o Do not allow the dropper to touch your eye or fingers.
o Never lend your eye-drops to anyone else.
g) Eye-drops should not be used for longer than 4 weeks (in order to keep them from getting
dirty and infected). Write the date of opening the bottle on the label so that you will know
when to throw them away.
h) Do not wear contact lenses until your course of eye-drops is finished, unless you have been
told otherwise.
3. Egy édesanya megy be önhöz a patikába. Kisfiának végbélkúpot írt fel az orvos, ám az
anya nem tudja, hogyan kell használni, mivel ez az első alkalom, hogy kúpot kap a
kisfiú. Magyarázza el az anyának a végbélkúp használatát.
a) Javasolja az anyának, hogy a kúp használata előtt kérje meg a gyermekét, hogy ürítsen
székletet, ha tud. Magyarázza el az édesanyának a következő utasításokat:

csússzon.
f) Utána a gyermek maradjon egyhelyben néhány percig, és legalább fél óráig ne ürítsen
székletet (hacsak nem hashajtókúpról van szó).
g) Hűvös, sötét helyen tárolja a kúpot, hogy meg ne olvadjon, de hűtőszekrénybe ne tegye.
a) Ask your child to go to the toilet and / Take your child to the toilet so he/she can empty
his/her bowels if he/she can.

c) Remove any foil or plastic wrapping from the suppository.
d) Ask your child to squat / Lay your child on his/her side with one leg straight and the other
leg bent.
e) Gently but firmly push the suppository, tapered end first, into the rectum. Push far enough
so that it does not slip out.
f) Tell him/her to close his/her legs and sit still for a few minutes. Make sure that he/she avoids
emptying the bowels / Ask him/her not to empty the bowels for at least half an hour (unless
the suppository is a laxative).
g) Always keep the suppositories in a dark, cool place, but not in the refrigerator. If they get
too warm, they may melt and you will not be able to use them.
a) Even a minor illness can disrupt your life, so be prepared for most common ailments by
keeping a few useful medicines at home.
a. Painkillers: e.g. aspirin, paracetamol or ibuprofen are highly effective at relieving
most minor aches and pain, such as headaches and mentrual pain. They also help to
reduce the inflammation in arthritis and sprains.
b. Antihistamines: they are useful for dealing with allergies and insect bites. They are
also helpful if you have hay fever.
c. Anti-diarrhoea tablets: diarrhoea is caused by a range of things, such as food
pisoning or a stomach virus, and can happen without warning. These remedies can
quickly control the unpleasant symptoms of diarrhoea, although they don’t deal with
the underlying cause.
d. Indigestion treatment: if you have stomach ache, heartburn or trapped wind, a simple
antacid will reduce stomach acidity and bring relief.
e. Sunscreen: keep a lotion of at least factor 15 because even brief exposure to the sun
can cause sunburn and increase your risk of skin cancer.
b) As well as the medicines we discussed, keep a well-prepared first aid kit. This can help to
treat minor cuts, sprains and bruises, and it can reduce the risk of cuts becoming infected. It
should contain the following items:
a. Bandages: these can support inhured limbs, such as fractures or sprains. They also
apply direct pressure to larger cuts before getting them treated in hospital.
b. Plasters: they are for smaller cuts or bruises.
c. Thermometer
d. Antiseptic: this can be used to clean cuts before they’re bandaged.
e. Eyewash solution: this will help to wash out grit or dirt in the eyes.
f. Sterile dressings: larger injuries should be covered with a sterile dressing to prevent
infection until treatment can be given.
g. Medical tape: this is used to secure dressings.
h. Tweezers: for taking out splinters.
c) Always keep medicines out of sight and reach of children. A high and lockable cupboard in
a cool, dry place is ideal.
d) Prescribed drugs should be kept separated from the OTC drugs.
e) Regularly check the expiry dates. Of a medicine is past its use-by date, don’t throw it away
but take it to your pharmacy, where it can be disposed of safely.
f) If you have further questions abou any of the medicines or you need any kind of help, don’t
hesitate to come back.
5. Egy kliens rovarcsípéstől duzzadt, kivörösödött kezét mutatva kéri önt, hogy adjon
neki megfelelő kenőcsöt vagy gyógyszert.
a) Kérdezze meg a beteget, hogy milyen rovar csípte meg.
b) Kérdezze meg, hogy mikor történt a csípés.
c) Kérje meg a beteget, hogy mutassa meg a kezét.
d) Tanácsolja a betegnek, hogy először távolítsa el a fullánkot a bőrből.
e) Javasoljon a betegnek egy kenőcsöt és közölje, hogy ezzel naponta háromszor kell
bedörzsölni a csípés felületét.
f) Figyelmeztesse a beteget, hogy ha 2 napon belül nem múlik el a duzzanat és a fájdalom,
akkor mindenképpen menjen orvoshoz.

b) What do you think could cause these symptoms? / Do you have any idea what could cause
these symptoms?
c) Do you have any other symptoms besides the swollen face and the rashes?
d) To relieve your symptoms I suggest that you take either an OTC antihistamine, that can be
taken by mouth, or you can use a cream or lotion containing antihistamines (e.g. Fenistil),
these can be applied to the skin and they are effective in relieving itching, skin irritations
and inflammation.
e) Since you’ve taken aspirin, I believe that your symptoms are caused by an allergic reaction
to its main active substance, acetylsalicylic acid. To avoid these allergic reactions, do not
take any kind of medicines that contain this ingredient.
f) You should definitely see your doctor because your allergy to acetylsalicylic-acid has to be
confirmed/proven/verified by an allergy test.
7. Egy 35 éves anya jön be önhöz a patikába 5 éves gyermekével, akinek fejtetve van.
Kérdezze ki az anyát, majd lássa el gyógyszerrel.
a) Kérje meg az anyát, hogy mutassa meg a gyermek fejét.
b) Kérdezze meg, hogy mikor vette először észre a problémát.
c) Javasoljon egy vény nélkül kapható szert (pl. Pedex).
d) Magyarázza el, hogyan kell a szert használni.
e) Hívja fel az anya figyelmét, hogy miután a fej tetűmentes lett, a tetvek petéi a hajszálon
maradhatnak, és ezeket egyenként ki kell szedni.
f) Javasolja, hogy megelőzésképpen a család többi tagja számára is hasznos lenne a szer.

b) When did you notice the lice for the first time?
c) I suggest that you use Pedex, which is an OTC lotion.
d) This is a special rinse which has to be applied on your child’s hair just as a regular shampoo.
You apply the lotion to the hair, rub it on the head and then rinse it with tepid water.
e) Do not use a hairdryer on your child’s hair after the scalp treatment, because the lotion
contains flammable ingredients. You might be able the tiny lice eggs (also called nits),
which look like white grains of sand attached to the hair shafts. Use a fine-toothed comb to
comb out these nits.
f) Lice infestations are easily passed from person to person in the same house, members of
your family may need treatment for lice infestation to prevent lice from coming back.
Althoug not usually necessry, washing clothing and bed linens in very hot water or putting
them in airtight bags for 10 days can help kill the lice and their eggs.
11. A beteg álmatlanságra panaszkodva kér öntől gyógyszert. Kérdezze ki a beteget, majd
javasoljon megfelelő ellenszert.
a) Kérdezze meg, mióta tart a probléma.
b) Kérdezze meg, kb. mennyi idő telik el a lefekvés és az elalvás között.
c) Kérdezze meg, hogy éjjel többször is fel szokott-e ébredni.
d) Javasoljon a betegnek egy vény nélkül is kiadható gyógyszert.
e) Figyelmeztesse a beteget, hogy a gyógyszer szedésével egy időben ne igyon alkoholt és ne
szedjen nyugtatót.
f) Hívja fel a beteg figyelmét, hogy a hozzászokás veszélye miatt ne szedje a gyógyszert 7-10
napon túl.
g) Figyelmeztesse a beteget, hogy ha ennél hosszabb ideig tart a probléma, akkor
mindenképpen keressen fel orvost.
12. A beteg gyomorfájásra panaszkodik. Kérdezze ki, majd adjon neki megfelelő
gyógyszert.
a) Kérdezze meg, hogy mióta tart a fájdalom.
b) Kérdezze meg a fájdalom pontos helyét.
c) Kérdezze meg, milyen jellegű a fájdalom.
d) Kérdezze meg a beteget, hogy volt-e már problémája a gyomorsavával.
e) Kérdezze meg a beteget, hogy tett-e valamit a fájdalom enyhítése érdekében.
f) Kérdezze meg a beteget, hogy szed-e valamilyen gyógyszert rendszeresen, és hogy szenved-
e valamilyen betegségben.
g) Javasoljon a betegnek valamilyen vény nélkül kapható savmegkötőt.
h) Hívja fel a beteg figyelmét arra, hogy a gyógyszer ugyan a tüneteket enyhíti, de
mindenképpen menjen orvoshoz, mert ő tudja megállapítani a tünetek pontos okát.
