CHANGE OUT GUIDE LINES
The Drilling Jar should be changed out periodically, for servicing. See Change Out Recommendations,
to determine recommended hours of use before servicing.
To use the information in Change Out Recommendations:
Step 1: Select the Tool OD.
Step 2: Determine the drilling USE.
Step 3: Select the Hole Size and note the corresponding Hours.
Step 4: Determine the Bottom Hole (BH) Temperature and note the corresponding Hours.
Step 5: Compare the hours between the temperature and the drilling USE.
Step 6: The smaller of the two will determine the service period. (metric)

Precautions for Hydra-Jar Tool Use
1). Avoid placing stabilizers or other BHA tools above the jar that have a larger O.D.
than the Hydra-Jar® Tool.
2). Place the Hydra-Jars® in the string above BHA elements that are likely to become
stuck and above hole geometry and hole sections that are likely to cause sticking.
3). Avoid running in the “neutral” position.
4). Avoid close detonation of string shots or other down hole explosives.
5). Forward to service centers as quickly as possible after use in corrosive conditions.
6). Utilize dual or multiple Hydra-Jar® Systems only under closely supervised string
placement positions.
7). Utilize high stress transmission tubulars between Hydra-Jar and potential stuck
points.
8). Utilize the HE “Hydra-Jar® Accelerator Placement Program”.
9). Do not stand Hydra-Jar® in derrick if Safety Clamp can not be applied.
Lay the Hydra-Jar down and utilize standby tools.
