Alice saw Grandma grabbing her coat.
“Where are you going?” she asked.
“I’m going to the homeless shelter,” said Grandma.
“Want to come?”

“Help some people,” said Grandma.
“What will we do there?” asked Alice.

Grandma and Alice arrived at the shelter.
First, they painted the kitchen with other volunteers.
By lunchtime the walls were bright yellow.
“Beautiful!” said Alice. “What’s next?”

One has to go to work.
“Several moms live here.
“Babysitting,” said Grandma.

Nick opened it and saw a dinosaur toy!
There were also candles, balloons, and a cake.
