About pictures:

These four photos are the four most satisfying to me of the photos I took before the

epidemic. I started out wanting to take photos on my own while traveling with friends,

but the Toronto embargo forced me to cancel the trip and stay home. So these four
photos are of the beauty and architecture that I took on my travels before the

epidemic. Then they are divided into 4 different styles by what I learned about

photography this semester.

The first one is a photo I posted when I went to DOWNTANG when I first came

to Toronto and was new to all things Canadian.

The second photo was taken when I was traveling with my best friend in

Dominica. I was new to archery at the time and my friend, who was a trained archer,

was teaching me the archery stance.

I forget the address of the third photo, but I was so taken by the beautiful

lakeside scenery that I took this photo.

The last photo was taken in my hometown when I went up to the snowy

mountains with my family to fulfill my wish to see the scenery, and the beauty of my

hometown did not disappoint me.

Photography classes have changed me

As my last assignment, I have a lot to say to my photography teacher. The reason

why I wanted to choose photography in the first place was actually because I thought

he was easy. I almost didn't choose to study photography in order to become a

photographer. But after these months of study, I realized that photography is not as

simple as I thought, it requires not only expensive equipment, but also strong enough

observation and patience, I learned a lot about photography and some life lessons

from the photography class.

I thought photography was just more complicated shooting at first, but when I

got into professional photography, I realized that a photo needs to consider the

knowledge of white balance, exposure, shadows, etc. I also learned about the basic

structure and development history of photos. When I actually practiced, I realized that

a professional camera can't just think about taking pictures like a cell phone. You need

quite a long time to adjust the data and angles in your camera. And you also need to

take dozens of photos to get the effect you are satisfied with, and finally you need to

enter adobe's PS for rendering and optimization. The final result may also not be your

satisfaction. In the process of learning I not only learned a lot about photography, but

also learned to be patient in learning. Because a lot of things can't be done the day you

want to finish. You need to give yourself a schedule. Make these things regular and

keep yourself organized. This truth made me feel better about the quality of things I

was doing instead of letting myself get restless during the epidemic. This is the

knowledge and truth that photography has given me.

For my final assignment, for example, I would first read the lesson carefully,

then start to conceptualize it, finally start to conceptualize the initial design and

answers in a draft file, and finally start to enter the "framework" into the GOOD

COPY file. The next day, I started to enter the answers and photos into the GOOD

COPY file through 1-2 days of constant revisions. These things made me understand

the difficulty of professional photography and the importance of patience.

Maybe photography will not make me a future photographer because it changed

me, but the knowledge it gave me will benefit me for the rest of my life.
