INTRUDUCTION

Home security is one of the major concern of every households and businesses

establishment now a days. Protecting their home, properties and business is on top of

their list. With the emerging innovation of Technology it has shown improvement

when it comes to securing our home and belongings over a short period with the

addition of control by smartphone and usage of microcontrollers and Graphics

Processing Unit (GPU) based microprocessors. Home security automation includes

features to make life easy. It allows us to monitors our house and belongings even

when we are not home. It also help us controlling appliances using smartphones from

a distance and it is due to wireless communication being effective.

Security systems consist of alarms and sensors which are being installed in

houses for effective and efficient way of protecting their home and properties. It is

designed to detect burglar incidents. Security and protection system are any of various

means or devices designed to guard persons and property against a broad range of

hazards, including crime, fire, accidents, espionage, sabotage, subversion, and attack

(Encyclopedia.org, 2014). One of the common security alarm systems that uses sensor

are doors and windows. Doors And windows alarm system is a type of home security

that help us securing our home from possible treats of intruders and other related

crimes. Door and window sensors make up the backbone of any home security

system. Most systems come with a set number of sensors, and then you can add more

for an additional fee. Ideally, the sensors get placed on every door and window in the

home, though some people only use them on the lower level of the house to save
money. If a door or window gets opened or breached when the alarm is on, the sensor

sends a signal to the main control panel, triggering an alarm.

There are different types of door and window sensors, though they all perform

basically the same function. Understanding how your sensors work helps you keep

them well-maintained. This keeps your system performing optimally, so your risk of

home invasion remains reduced.

Intruders always use doors and windows as their gateway in forcefully entering a

house or business establishment to rob. Because of this observation, the proponents

have come up with the idea of developing a project entitled “Household Doors and

Windows Security Alarm” to enhance the level of security in every home, to avoid

intrusion, burglar and robbery and even damage to properties, and even for personal

protection.
