B SIX TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL INTERVIEW

Interviews can be stressful. However, with the right preparation, you can succeed and get that job!
C
DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
D It’s important to have the right skills and qualifications. However, you also need to understand the job. Before the
interview, read the description carefully. Look at the responsibilities. Think about how your skills match them.
E 5 You should also check out the company’s social media pages. During the interview, talk about any recent
achievements the company had. This shows you’re interested in the company.
F Also, know your résumé well! Think about your experience. Give examples of when you achieved something.
How did you solve a problem? What examples show that you are dependable and hardworking?

KNOW THE TYPE OF INTERVIEW

10 Most interviews are face-to-face. However, many interviews are now done online. For video interviews, make
sure your webcam is working. Also choose a room that is quiet and bright.

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE

Practice some common interview questions. These include:
• Tell me about yourself.
15 • What's your biggest weakness?
• Why did you apply for this role?
• What do you know about the company?

BE PUNCTUAL
To make a good impression, arrive 10 minutes early. Check bus and train
20 routes, and find the quickest way to get to the company’s office. If your
interview is in the morning, traffic may also be a problem.

LOOK PROFESSIONAL
The way you dress says a lot about you. To look professional, wear a dark-colored suit and shoes – never
sneakers! Don’t use too much perfume. Women should avoid wearing too much jewelry or makeup. Make sure
25 your clothes are clean. And check that your hair is neat, even for casual interviews.

BE CONFIDENT
It’s OK to feel nervous before an interview. However, try to stay calm. Make eye contact with the interviewer.
Stand and sit up straight. Finally, remember to smile!
To succeed in your interview, follow these tips. And remember -- prepare, prepare again, and finally, prepare!
