Essential Questions:
● In what ways did Americans protest the Vietnam War? How did this evolve?
● How did the government respond to the anti-war protests?

State of Michigan Content Standards:


8.1.2 Foreign Policy during the Cold War – Compare the causes and consequences of
the setbacks and successes of the American policy of containing the Soviet Union,
including:

○ U.S. involvement in Vietnam, and the foreign and domestic


consequences of the war

Learning Objectives:
● Students will be able to list different ways Americans protested the Vietnam
War and how these evolved from small group protests to nation wide music
● Students will be able to describe how the government responded to large scale
anti-war protests
