Have a seat in the foyer, take a number
I was lightning before the thunder

While I was scheming for the masses
Who do you think you are?
Dreaming 'bout being a big star
You say you're basic, you say you're easy
You're always riding in the back seat
Now I'm smiling from the stage
While You were clapping in the nose bleeds

Thunder, feel the thunder______________________Chorus

Lightning and the thunder, thunder
Thunder, feel the thunder

Intro : it is a brief introduction passage to a song. It is filled with leading music before the
vocal comes in.

Verse : It is the content of a song. In verse, we can find the meaning, the feeling, the concept
and the theme of a song

Chorus : It is part of a song that is repeated at least once both lyrically and musically. A
chorus usually plays a role as a catchy part in a song.

Bridge : It is part of a song that has relatively different melodies from the rest of the song.
The bridge creates some contrasts and add richer dimensions to a song.

The typical song structure is as following. However, a song does not have to be ordered like
this. A songwriter might change the order or eliminate one of the parts.

Figurative Language

A figurative language is language that uses words or expressions with a meaning that is
different from the literal interpretation. When a writer uses a literal language, he or she is
simply stating the facts as they are. A figurative language, in comparison, uses exaggeration
or alterations to make a particular linguistics point.

Type of figurative language

1. Metaphor : it is a comparison made between things which are essentially not alike.
For example ; Nobody invites Edward to parties because he is a wet blanket.
2. Simile : it is like a metaphor and often uses the words ‘like’ or ‘as’.
Example; Jamie runs as fast the wind

4
3. Personification : it is when something that is not human is given human-like qualities.
Example ; the leaves danced in the wind on a cold October afternoon
4. Hyperbole : Exaggerating, often in a humorous way to make a particular point.
Example ; My eyes widened at the sight of the mile-high ice cream cones we were
having for dessert.
5. Onomatopoeia : when you name an action by imitating the sound associated with it.
Example ; The bees buzz angrily when their hive is disturbed.
6. Idiom : an expression used by a particular group of people with a meaning that is only
one known through common use. Example ; I’m just waiting for him to kick the
bucket
7. Alliteration : when a series of words in a row (or close together) have the same first
consonant sound. Example ; She sells sea-shells down by the sea-shore of Peter Piper
picked a pecked of pickled peppers
8. Assonance ; when you repeat a vowel sound in a phrase.
Example ; True, I do like Sue

Fire work
Katy Perry

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag

Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards, one blow from cavin' in?

Do you ever feel already buried deep?

Six feet under screams, but no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there's still a chance for you?
'Cause there's a spark in you

You just gotta ignite the lightAnd let it shine

Just own the night Like the Fourth of July
'Cause baby, you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go, "Oh, oh, oh"
As you shoot across the sky

Baby, you're a firework

Come on, let your colors burst
Make 'em go, "Oh, oh, oh"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe, awe, awe

You don't have to feel like a waste of space

You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow

Maybe a reason why all the doors are closed

So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it's time, you'll know

You just gotta ignite the light And let it shine

Just own the night Like the Fourth of July

Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
It's always been inside of you, you, you
And now it's time to let it through
