NOTE: For this assignment, Mr. Khadim A. Aala cleaned and
separated out a new field “Material Type” – Please use this 2nd
version of the dataset in the following analyses.
Assignment Requirements:
Produce the following set of analyses (using Pivot Tables or Pivot Charts – use labels given like
‘MAT01’ in your workbook):
Materials Consumption Analyses
1. MAT01 - Breakup of “Consumed SqFt”: by “Job Manager” at 1st Level and “Client Name” at 2nd

2. MAT02 – Filter MAT01 to leave only Top 80%
Clients sorted in terms of their consumption (as in

Report Layout > Show in Outline View (this
makes filtering appear separate for each level)

b. Make sure the cursor has activated a cell in Column to apply filter to (see snapshots above).
c. Use Value Filter > Top 10…: For the Client column we want to filter, this is in the column’s
drop-down menu. Note we want to filter this based on Values column so we use Value Filter.
In Top 10…, you will find options that you can change to show Top 80 Percent.

3. MAT03 – Visualization of Top 80% Client Consumers under each Manager (as in MAT02) but
with additional filtering through Slicers. See visualization below ................................... [20 marks]

4. MAT04 – Make a Pivot Chart that matches all the elements of the Visualization below in terms
of colors, sorting, filtering and slicing (slicers are removed by select and delete): ............................ [20 marks]
