GOD’S SOLUTIONS TO MARITAL CHALLENGES.

There are three main institutions established by God. These three institutions are:

1. The family (Home or marriage)

2. The church
3. The Government.

Of all these 3 institutions. The family being the smallest has suffered more attacks from
Satan and his agent. Satan knows that the family is the smallest unit of every institution
that determines the condition of institutions. Man’s attempts at solving marital
challenged caused by Satan will always yield no positive results. Therefore there is need
for man to look up to God as the ultimate solutions provider for marital challenges.

SCRIPTURAL FOUNDATION – Genesis 3:1-15; John 2:1-11; Psalm 127:1-5.

FACTS ABOUT MARITAL CHALLENGES.

1. It is a universal challenge. It is common to all.

2. It is not a respecter of anyone.
3. It comes from various sources (Spiritual, natural, social, etc.).
4. It can destroy family, churches, even nation.
5. It has ability to destroy destinies.
6. It always has a source.
7. Satan is the chief architect of all marital challenges.
8. Ignorance is Satan’s weapon to execute marital challenges (Hosea 4:6).
9. Patience, prayer and perseverance are three important spiritual virtues to
overcome all marital challenges.
10.God has solutions to all marital challenges.
11.Marital challenges are not meant to destroy us but to construct us.
12.Marital challenges are not meant to break home but to build homes.
13.Marital challenges are not meant to molest us but to motivate us.

SOURCES OF MARITAL CHALLENGES. Psalm. 11:3.

1. Generational or inherited marital challenge – Gen. 15:1-2.

2. Natural marital challenges – Matt. 7:23-25.
3. Spiritual marital challenges – 1 Sam. 1:1-5.
4. Contacted marital challenges – 1 Sam. 25:2-38.
5. Self invited and self initiated marital challenges.
 KINDS OF MARITAL CHALLENGES.

1. Spiritual marital challenges – This can happen through foundation mistake or

spiritual bondage.
2. Family disagreement – When any of the parent of the bride or bridegroom
disagrees with the marriage.
3. God allowed marital challenges – The case of Zechariah and Elizabeth was a
good example. Luke. 1:5-25,
4. Social marital challenges – These are challenges that come in to marriage
through society influence
5. Economic marital challenge – These are challenges of financial hardship. The
husband lost his Job. Etc.
6. Biological marital challenges – E.G. when a man and a woman goes in to
marriage without proper understanding of each other’s biological nature, like
genetics etc.
7. Physical marital challenges – There can be a sickness that attacks any of the
spouse or even their children.
8. Cultural marital challenges – These are challenges imposed by cultural beliefs
and practices.

GOD’S SOLUTIONS TO MARITAL CHALLENGES.

1. Start with God – Build the foundation of your marriage on God. Let God speak to
you about who you should marry.
2. Build your home on the eternal word of God. Matt. 7:21-25. The word of God is
the solid ground that solidities the home.
3. Husbands must learn to love their wives unconditional – Eph. 5:25.
4. Wives must learn to submit themselves to their husbands – Eph. 5:22.
5. Couples must learn to understand each other and respect each other’s opinion.
6. Couples must learn to plan, pray and work together in unity – Psalm 133:1-3.
7. Build a family altar, where the Holy Spirit is the chairman and members of the
family as active participant.
8. Carry out spiritual warfare against all the onslaught of Satan and his host.
9. Seek for counseling from matured and spiritual people when confronted with
challenges.
10.Do not open the door of your family to Devil by carrying your family matters to
every Dick and Harry.
11.Keep God’s presence in your family through Holiness and forgiveness for all
wrongs.
