Report – Community of Practice for Grade 8 Extended Mathematics

I attended the Community of practice which took placed at the MIE on the 06 August of 2019.

The workshop started at 12.30 and ended around 15.00.

The meeting started with feedbacks from teachers where focus was driven towards the
student’s progress from term 1 to term 2 of this year.

Then the discussion revolved around the template used by some schools regarding a
differentiated Education plan (DEP).

And finally it was communicated that the students for grade 8 extended mathematics will be
having a common examination paper set by the MIE at the end of this year. Marking will be done with
respect to the Marking scheme which will also be provided .

It was mentioned that a model paper would be made available.
