On Saturday night, we went to the Town Hall.

It was the last day of the year and a large crowd of people had gathered under the Town Hall clock.

It would strike twelve in twenty minutes’ time.

Fifteen minutes passed and then, at five to twelve, the clock stopped.

The big minute hand did not move.

We waited and waited, but nothing happened.

Suddenly someone shouted,”It’s two minutes past twelve! The clock has stopped!”

I looked at my watch. It was true.

The big clock refused to welcome the New Year. At that moment, everybody began to laugh and
sing.

Bagian 3:

(B)a few months ago, i went to cermin beach with my family. It is locked in serdang bedagai district
about 53 km from medan city in north sumatera. we left from medan at 07.30 by car and we arrived
there about 09.00 o'clock. so, the trip took about 1.5 hours.

(D)as we got there, my parents rented a hut my brother and I immediately ran towards the beach. it
was a sunny day with the blue sky. Unfortunately, i couldn't swim so i didn't go swimming against
the tide. i just played with white sand and built a send castle. of course i didn't forget to take
pictures with the background of beautiful beach

(A)at noon, i began to feel hungry. i came back to the hut. apparently,my mother had prepared lunch
for us. she made it very early from home. we were so happy and enjoyed the home made meal very
much while enjoying the beauty of nature there. my family really had a great time
(C)we didn't realize it was getting dark. we hurried bought some souvenirs and packed our belonging
to go home. finally, we arrived home a bit late, at 6.00 pm because there was a traffic jam.
