DOZER OPERATIONS

The Dozer is a track vehicle that is used to push soil around, gather soil into heaps, and the front
blade can be used for grading and levelling the terrain. The Dozer operator will also experience the
same workplace hazards as the other plant equipment operators as they work in the same vicinity
as each other. Generally the noise levels inside the cab of the TLB do not exceed the 85 dB (A)
level, but some plant do generate noise above this level. The recent noise study on the equipment
should be consulted to determine if operators need to wear hearing protection. Other exposures
while operating the plant equipment will include heat stress, and dust inhalation.

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS WHILST OPERATING

 Coveralls
 Safety shoes with steel toe cap
 Hearing protection (Ear muffs or ear plugs)
 An FFP2 dust mask.
 For areas where chemical vapour is prevalent, a 3M 6300 respirator should be worn.
