General Format for the Sinusoidal Waveform General Format for the Sinusoidal Waveform
The basic mathematical formula for the sinusoidal waveform is • Am is the peak value of the waveform and a is the unit of measure for
the vertical axis.
• a is the angle through which the coil sides will pass (determined by
the angular velocity of the rotating vector and the length of time the
vector rotates, equal to wt )
• w is the angular velocity which is the velocity with which the coil sides
rotates about the center
where the capital letters with the subscript m represent the amplitude
and the lowercase letters i and e or v represents the instantaneous
value of current or voltage, respectively, at any time t.
