LESSON 11: VISUAL INFORMATION AND MEDIA
OBJECTIVVE/S:
 Describe the dimensions of text information and media
VISUAL INFORMATION
 Is the artistic or creative representation or interpretation of an idea,
concept, or emotion using different media. It is created by painters,
photographers, graphic artists or designers, and sculptors, among others.
TYPES OF VISUAL INFORMATION
1. Painting – an art form that creates picture using a flat mediums, such as
canvas or board, and paint.
 Landscape
 Portrait
 Still Life
 Icon
2. Photo/Images – used as evidences to document historical events
3. Sculpture – an example of three dimensional art work that can be made using
clay, stone, metal, or other materials. A sculpture shows a replica of the
subject or model.
4. Cartoon or Comic Strip – shows illustrations or drawing arranged
sequentially in boxes.
5. Graphs and Charts – pertains to a diagram, which is a series of one or more
points, lines, line segments, curves, or areas.
6. Billboard and Poster – refers to a large outdoor board containing text
information and images or designs posted as a form of advertisement.

LESSON 12: AUDIO INFORMATION AND MEDIA
OBJECTIVE/S:
 Describe the dimensions of text information and media
AUDIO INFORMATION
- Pertains to any sound or auditory impression perceived by the ears and
processed by the brain. Specifically, audio information can be any of the
following:
 Dialog or Conversation
 Lecture or Talk
 News
 Podcast
 Audio Book
 Music
KINDS OF MUSIC
1. Classical – refers to the kind of music associated with the luminary
composers and musicians like Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and Schubert.
2. Opera – kind of music performed by singers and musicians through a dramatic
work, combining text and musical store, usually in a theatrical setting.
3. Broadway – music similar to opera.
4. Folk or Traditional – kinds of music showing the tradition and culture of
one's ancestors.
5. Inspirational, Gospel, or Religious – type of music that is religious and
sacred in nature.
6. Ballad – has light, sentimental, or romantic mood with slow melody.
7. Soul – it combines elements of African-American Gospel Music, rhythm and
blues, and jazz.
8. Reggae – originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s. It has fast melody, and
incorporates jazz and rhythm, and blues.
9. Hip-hop or Rap – a type of music popular to the younger generation.
10. Rock or Punk – characterized by loud and heavy metal music produced by
electric guitars and drums.
11. Asian Pop – a popular upbeat music making waves in Asia like in Japan
(JPOP) and Korea (KPOP).
12. Original Pilipino Music(OPM) – comprised of Filipino music from
various genres including retro music, pop music, and even kundiman music.
