    RAISES – Local 1 Downtown Chicago Janitors 

    YEARLY INCREASES: Year 1 Year 2 Year 3

    Year 1, 4/5/2021 = $0.25/hour $520.00 $520.00 $520.00


    Year 2, 4/5/2022 = $0.45/hour — $936.00 $936.00
    Year 3, 4/5/2023 = $0.50/hour — — $1,040.00
    Total: $520.00 $1,456.00 $2,496.00

    During Contract:

    Job Protection – Ensures janitors with nine years or less in seniority and who was laid off between
    February 1, 2020 and March 1, 2021 an extension of one year for recall rights (two years total).
    Vacation - Vacation will now be based on a “pay as you go” system and you can use it as you earn it.
    No change to vacation you currently earn.
    Your four (4) personal days will be redefined to be use them any way you want to, like:
    1. Personal Day
    2. Employee Birthday
    3. Sick Day (need 2 hours notice prior to shift)
    Protected Healthcare – 100% Employer Paid, Increased Health & Welfare contribution by
    Employers by $.05 per hour in year 3 of Contract.
    Three (3) year agreement – While employers fought for a 1-year agreement, Local 1 janitors won a
    strong three-year contract, effective from April 5, 2021 to April 7, 2024.
