In the face of these unsettling times
we are thankful for your continuing generosity.
Requests for public prayers for the sick should be made by
the sick person themselves, or a family member, since at
times, the person does not wish the illness to be made public.
Please call the parish secretary with your requests. The name
will be printed for a few weeks. Please call again, to renew, if
necessary. Please refer to this weekly list to include the sick
in your prayers. Thank you.

In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus says: “Come after me,
and I will make you fishers of men.” As disciples, we
are called to continue God’s work on earth. Taking care
of god’s poor is indeed living gospel values.
This month, through your gifts, the Society of St.
Vincent de Paul was able to assist families;
providing food, and utility, rent and other bills.

MASS INTENTIONS
"People shouldn't be forgotten; they matter."
The offering is $15 per Mass Intention which is a way
of providing for the needs of the church and a tangible
way of offering the gift of remembrance.
Other ways to remember your loved ones are also
available.
The SASFX Mass Intention Book for 2021 is open
for your intentions. We will be accepting up to 2
intentions for each Mass. Anyone wishing to
request Masses for 2021 should contact the rectory
at 718-638-1880.
ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL
The Diocesan Catholic Yearly Appeal provides us with the
opportunity to be bearers of Christ’s light to others, a light
that reflects Christ’s kindness, compassion, and hope. We
hope that when presented with the opportunity to participate
in the Annual Appeal, you will answer the call to build God’s
Kingdom.
St. Francis Xavier Parish has achieved their diocesan assigned
goal. Thank you to all who participated.
St. Augustine parishioners have pledged $15,000.00 towards
their assigned goal of $38,000.00.

A YEAR DEDICATED TO ST. JOSEPH
Pope Francis announced a Year of St. Joseph in honor of the
150th anniversary of the saint’s proclamation as patron of the
Universal Church.
The year began Dec. 8, 2020, and concludes on Dec. 8, 2021,
according to a decree authorized by the pope.
