Each teacher should have a professional development plan ‘’PDP’’, to improve their teaching skills, and
to achieve their goals as a teacher. A professional development plan is a plan that explains the goals, the
PDP identify the necessary skills and recourses that support the teacher’s goals. The professional
development plan is a list of actionable steps that helps you to achieve your goals, and it helps you to gain
specific insight into how you can reach your aspirations.

The purpose and justification a professional development plan is basically a development plans that
define teacher’s career goals, and it is a necessary tool to guide you through the operation. According to
Prifysgol Bangor University staff ‘’Why should you set goals?
Here are just a few good reasons to set yourself goals:

 To establish the direction that you need to take.

 Provide you with time to reflect on your role and the areas in which you want to develop.
 Motivation is key to achieving goals.  Individuals and teams find goals are motivating as they
provide direction and a way of measuring success.
 Allow you to take control and be proactive rather than be reactive to events.’’

what they really want for their future, it helps them organize their time and know the steps they are
making, also it can helps the teachers to create a structured plan and timeline for achieving their goals,

and its let you take the responsibility for your own development. Recording to Chrissy, S, Professional
Development Plan Basics: The Purpose and Benefits of PDP.

As I mentioned before, the professional development plan (PDP), can help me define my goals and
work on them until I achieve the goals I have set, moreover, it allow me to take control on what is
coming in my career. The PDP will help know the areas that I want to develop in the future. According
to Prifysgol Bangor University staff PDP will be helpful for me and it will show me the direction that I
need to take, by writing the goals and how I will achieve it.

My professional development plan goals for this semester, the first goal is to use differentiated
activities for the students, and the actions for this goal that I will use different activities for
different students achievement level: Low-Medium-High, and I will assess students learning
using diagnostic assessment. Also, I will design lessons based on students learning styles, and

According to Wesebly, C, (2020).

The second goal of my professional development plan is improve my time management, I will
plan for the lesson and submit the lesson plan on time, also, I will attend the class before the
students, I will set a time limit for each activity, make a schedule and stick to it, I will use a
to-do-list. According to Arvidsson, N, April (15, 2016).

Third goal of my professional development plan is use the teacher voice during the classroom,
the actions I will make is I will feel more confident while am teaching. I will practice more
teaching in front of the class, I will act like am the only teacher in the classroom, also, I will
record the class during am teaching and I will play the record to notice my mistakes.
According to Pulda, Arnold, (10, May, 2001).

3
Finally, the last goal of my PDP is Improve my communicating skill; build relationships with
