Changed Specifications

1 Due to request from the Chinese markets, only CELLPACK CPK303A can now be used on
XP-300 instruments for the Chinese markets. Other types of CELLPACK; PK-30L, CPK-300A
and CPK-310A can no longer be used in the Chinese markets.

2 Previously, if the language is set to Chinese on an XP-100 instrument, reagents were

replaced without registering reagent information as reagent information was not managed in
this situation. As such, even on XP-100 instruments for Europe or the UK, reagents could be
replaced without registering reagent information.
To resolve this issue, the program has been changed to not register reagent information if
the following conditions are met:
- the instrument is an XP-100 instrument for Chinese markets; and
- the language is set to Chinese

Resolved program issues

1 Previously, on the external printer settings screen, [LX-300+] printer was displayed as a
printer type option, even though it was not supported by XP Series. This issue has now been
resolved.
As shown in the diagrams below, [LX-300+] has been deleted from the options to choose as a
printer type.
NOTE:
If the program is upgraded to version 00-10 from version 00-09 or lower when [LX-300+]
printer is set, [LX-300+] printer will still be set for the printer type. However, this would not be
a problem as [LX-300+] printer is controlled in the same manner as ESC/P.

2 Previously, if any of the [pocH], [KX-21N] and [K-1000] formats are selected in Host Output
settings and pre-diluted mode analysis results are output to the host computer, volume
distribution analysis parameters were masked as "*0000" except for CBC8 parameters.
This issue has now been resolved.

Changed Specifications

1 Conditions for disconnecting host LAN connection have been changed.

Previously, if a setting value was changed on the XP main unit, host LAN connection was
disconnected no matter what type of setting parameter was changed. The program has now
been changed not to disconnect host LAN connection unless network settings are changed.

Resolved program issues

1 Steps have been taken to resolve the issue where QC chart was not displayed depending on
how the instrument was restarted after the instrument had been shut down.
Previously, if the instrument was restarted by pressing "Restart" button without switching
OFF the power after a shutdown sequence was executed, the following problems occurred.
Past QC data were not displayed on the QC chart screen.

file://tsc-serv02/cs-tech2/COMMON/TS_English/SM/Web_Manual/XP-300/SM_Cntnt/AppenD/CAR... 2013/10/03

If QC analysis was performed when there were less than 60 plots of QC data, only
analysis results were displayed on the QC chart screen and QC data analyzed after the
instrument was restarted were not displayed. (However, if the instrument was restarted
by switching OFF and ON the XP main unit, all QC data were displayed.)
If QC analysis was performed when there were 60 plots of old QC data, QC analysis

was not completed successfully and the instrument locked up, displaying a system
error.

These issues have now been resolved.

Online QC. Therefore, time and date information [YYYYMMDDhhmmss] is added to file
names for instruments which support SNCS.
Previously, as no date and time information was included in files sent from the XP instrument,
only 1 file was imported per day and subsequent files were deleted. To resolve this issue,
date and time information has been added to the names of files attached to the following 4
maintenance reports:

Startup report
Shutdown report

Event history

Resolved program issues

1 Printing problems with PCL printers have been resolved.

Previously, when printing on a PCL printer (GP printer) from the XP instrument, some characters
were overlapped and were inverted between black and white. This issue has now been resolved.
2 Problems with the positions of characters displayed on the reagent replacement history screen have
been resolved.
Previously, if less than 16 characters (Maximum number of characters for a product code/product
name) were set for a product code (product name), there were cases where information on shelf life
after opening was displayed in the product code (product name) column on the second reagent
replacement history screen as some characters were moved to left.
This issue has now been resolved.

Resolved program issues

1 Previously, on instruments for China, some characters were garbled in "Settings Error"
screen. This issue has now been resolved.
2 Previously, when there was no paper in a graphic printer (GP) and multiple sample
data were sent to the printer from stored data, "GP paper empty" error occurred, and
there were cases where only data for the first sample were printed and data for the
remaining samples were not printed even though paper was subsequently refilled in the
printer and [Retry] button was pressed in the help screen.
Also, when the XP instrument was not connected to a graphic printer (GP) and multiple
sample data were sent to the printer from stored data, "GP printout error" occurred, and
there were cases where only data for the first sample were printed and data for the
remaining samples were not printed even though the printer was subsequently
connected to the instrument and [Retry] button was pressed in the help screen.
These issues have now been resolved.

Changed Specifications

1 A function has been added to send print data to a PC connected via LAN.
NOTE:
With this specification change, it will be possible to print with a commercially-
available printer, using a PC connected to an XP instrument via a LAN cable as
shown in the diagram below. However, this function is not available at this stage,
as it is necessary to install designated software (to be released at the end of
August 2012) into the PC.

[Diagram showing connection between XP and commercially-available printer]

2 As a measure to strengthen SNCS's function to detect instrument failures, the

instrument's pressure data will now be added to a startup report, which is to be
transmitted to the SNCS server when the instrument is started using Hot Start.
3 Previously, when a diluent or lyse reagent has passed its expiry date, the analysis
results of all parameters were displayed as [****] and it was impossible to perform
analysis until the error was cleared. However, the specification has been changed so
that analysis can be continued even if this error occurs.
4 The cycle of updating numeric values in the status display screen has been changed
from 300 msec to 100 msec to enable status display to be updated faster.

Changed Specifications

1 When a calibration error occurs during automatic calibration, it is necessary to clear the
error to perform automatic calibration once again. Previously, however, a calibration
error could only be cleared when calibration values are confirmed and the Quit button
was pressed in the manual calibration screen. Therefore, when a calibration error
occurred during automatic calibration, it was difficult to figure out how to clear the error.
To allow automatic calibration to be performed smoothly once again, a change has
been made to clear the calibration error even from the automatic calibration screen.
2 To reduce the frequency of SNCS connection errors occurring even in a poor network
environment, the following changes have been made:

1. The duration of timeout for SNCS connection errors has been extended from 6
seconds to 30 seconds.
2. When there is a connection problem with the SNCS server, up to 5 attempts will
be made to connect the SNCS server.
3 Start-up report files will now be sent even when the instrument is started using Hot
Start.
(However, background check service data will not be sent, as background check is not
performed when the instrument is started using Hot Start.)

Resolved program issues

1 Previously, when data of more than 2001 samples were output at the same time to
several devices (Printing on internal printer (IP), printing on graphic printer (GP),
printing on list printer (LP), and output to host computer), a dialog box appeared,
stating that "Please wait for a moment." and data output could not be started. This
issue has now been resolved.
2 Previously, if a "Waste not drained" error occurred during the preprocessing sequence
(a preparation sequence for TD cleaning) when TD cleaning was executed from the
maintenance menu screen, there were cases where "Waste not drained" errors
occurred consecutively and the instrument locked up after the preprocessing sequence
was completed. To resolve this issue, a change has been made so that until the initial
"Waste not drained" error is cleared, the same error will not occur.
3 Previously, when the analysis sequence was stopped at Sequence No.7 in the HGB
rough adjustment screen, HGB value was always displayed as 0.0, failing to display the
correct value. This issue has now been resolved.
4 Previously, when QC (X-Bar) was performed, "-" was displayed in the [Judgment]
column even though the results were within the acceptable range. This issue has now
been resolved.
5 Previously, when analysis results of samples with sample ID attribute "M" were
analyzed manually, sample ID attribute "A" was incorrectly displayed for manual

analysis results. This issue has now been resolved.

6 Previously, when the use of SNCS functions was set as "Used", even though the PCB
for SNCS (Serial-LAN converter Xport04) was not connected, files were sent to the
SNCS server and the instrument subsequently locked up. This issue has now been
resolved.
