necessary for business to become officially registered and legalized in the locality.

Legalizing a business or obtaining business permit has steps to be followed:

First step is to determine where to get your business licences. You will need to get license from

the city or town where you planning to operate your business.

Second step is to know your business code. There’s a different business code in different

require specific application process, and every municipality has its own set of requirement. What

you need is just a simple. Assumed Business Name or often called DBA.

Third step is to locate the form you will need to fill out. You will need to fill out the form and

Fourth step is to fill out the forms. In filling out the forms, you have to provide information about

your business: type, address, owner, contact information, number of employees, etc. in addition to

other information specific to the type of business you operate.

Fifth step is to file your forms. After filling out the forms, file it to your municipality’s finance

department.
Sixth step is to pay the filling fee. The fee depends on the type of business you operates and it

also matter on the municipality where you register your business because every municipality has

its own requirements regarding the filling fee that goes with the business license.

Seventh step is to wait to receive your license. The time it takes in processing the license depends

on the type of business you’ll operate.

The final step is to follow the ordinance that pertains to your business. It is important to follow

the rules and regulations laid out by the local government or the municipality for the type of

business you’re operating once you started operating your business. You’ll need to report any

major changes to the facts on your business license application promptly and renew your business

license in accordance with the laws of your municipality.

In legalizing the business, all you have to do is to register the business to the Department of Trade

and Industry (DTI), Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), and to the Bureau of Internal

Revenue (BIR).
