The trombone part needs to be shifted down

two half steps for the whole piece. Just a

minor transposition thing, but it’s an easy fix.
First note should be a concert G, second note
a concert D, and the rest follow suit

This would be extremely low, even for bass trombone.

Either put an optional lower octave, or bring the 1st and
3rd note up an octave (after you transpose it down two
steps)
I really like this part you added. Fits very well, outlines the chord nicely, and is effective. Might be
a bit difficult for the trumpet depending on what level of player you’re writing this for (advanced
high school to college at a minimum), but not impossible by any means. Just something to keep in
mind

This is great!

Overall, this is a great arrangement!

You’ve done a great job so far and your
interpretive decisions work very well.
Something to consider: have quarter Check out my comments regarding the
notes on beat 3 and 4, going G-D-G trombone transposition and some of the
leading to beat 1. Either the top or octave choices used. Let me know if you
bottom line would work well (forgive need help with the transposition. You’re
my bad drawing) off to a great start!
Really like the
harmony here!

Listen to the acoustic guitar in the original.

Something rhythmic like that might fit well in the 3rd flute

Think about adding something to the

3rd flute part that keeps the energy
going. Moving 8th notes would fit
nicely here (going V-i in 8th notes
would function well)

The guitar plays a chord on

count 4 here. Maybe something
like that could fit in?

Consider adding a
Same idea as what I said in
note change on count
the first measure. Think about
3 to emphasize the
ways to keep motion going so
syncopation in flute
it leads into the next measure
1/2
Great adjustments here!

Overall, I really like what

you have so far! You
picked a great song, and it
works really well with the
instrumentation. I gave
you a few ideas for the 3rd
flute part, so experiment
with that. Of course, do
what you think sounds
best.
The adjustment you
made between the alto
and tenor works well!

(G/F concert)

We already talked about this on Monday, but

make sure you transpose the tenor sax parts

(E/D concert)

Everything looks go so far! I know you have a plan

in mind on what to add next so stick with that.
Just check out the transposition and you’ll be all set
Something to consider: the pedal synth in the opening might work
well in the 3rd part. That helps establish the root a bit more and
provides a foundation for the upper moving parts. What you have
also works, so just something to consider (or maybe add a 5th
part with the bass line - basically a tuba/bass trombone part)

I’d put a slur here (in all three parts, as

marked), it’ll make things smoother and
match the song

Overall, you’re off to a great start so

far! Everything you have works well,
and you already have an idea for
what you want to add for Friday.
The on thing I’d consider doing is
adding some sort of articulations,
just to emphasize certain notes and/
or add some style to it. Well done!
