STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

ABOUT ME:
Hi, it is I, Arslan Akram. I belong to Faisalabad that’s the textile industry hub and third
largest city of Pakistan. My sole intention to write this statement of purpose is to portray a clear
image of myself, reasons behind my selection of UK, this university and what I’ll be doing after
passing out, before the selection committee.
I’ve earned my recent qualification at bachelors’ level with commerce. I joined
Government College University, Faisalabad for this purpose and got a handsome CGPA of
3.37/4.00. After my graduation, I joined Sameel Enterprises as Senior Account Officer in January-
2017 but soon promoted as Assistant Manager Accounts in January-2019.
Now I aim to head to UK to get a Master Degree in Business Administration with
Leadership Practice from Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland.

WHY UK:
Choosing UK for my next educational destination can be justified by many facts, UK ranks
at the top in worlds favorite study destinations according to World Population Review. This
educational friendly country spends a hefty budget of 92.3 billion pounds over education and
research. UK universities have been serving the humanity since the industrial revolution took
place in 17th century. Today every 1 out of 4 world leaders in UK qualified and its increasing. Every
year, thousand of brilliant mind travel to UK to quench their thirst for knowledge and taking
advantage of world class research facilities and libraries.
Standard of life at United Kingdom is second big reason of considering it. UK holds
a fine 0.932 score at human development index. Studying there will give me a chance to observe
it closely. I will have a chance to visit “the point of end of the world” in Dungeness. I will have a
great chance to meet and interact with the people of different backgrounds. It will enhance my
exposure and broaden my vision. Universities in United Kingdom are equipped with state-of-the-
art laboratories, highly qualified alumni and bibliotheca. UK education system is more practice-
based than just bookish. It will provide me an opportunity to practically implement what I have
learnt in the books. All worldly renowned journals, websites and educational expo point toward
UK when it comes to top study destinations in the world.

WHY EDINBURGH NAPIER UNIVERSITY:

 Searching for a suitable university abroad is not an easy task, a university that provides
international standard of education at affordable rates, provides excellent research facilities,
economical accommodation options and a memorable student’s life at campus.
Keeping these views in mind, I started looking for some university, after days of
discussion, surfing through internet and counselling with my educational consultant I found the
Edinburgh Napier University to be most feasible.
This Scotland based university ranks among top 80 universities in the UK according to The
Complete University Guide with an appreciable 79% student satisfaction rate. Where most of the
students are in work or peruse their education within 6 months of graduating.
Edinburgh is a city of greenery and beautiful sights. Studying there will give me more than
just a degree. I’ll come across the people from all nationalities and fellows from different cultural
background. This interaction will enhance my interpersonal skills and broaden my exposure to
the world.
Located on just a short distance from Edinburgh’s famous things to do like Edinburgh
Castle, Palace of Holyrood House, Arthur’s seat, Colton Hill and National Museum of Scotland
and, this university let its students enjoy the Scottish life as it should be, during their stay.

WHY MBA (LEADERSHIP PRACTICE):

After earning a degree in Commerce and having a hand-on practice, now I plan to go
deeper in the business field. I have chosen Masters of Business with leadership practice because
of its wide scope in corporate world. This MBA is specially designed for the people who want to
serve as a manager or team leader at global level.
Scheme of study of Edinburgh Napier University puts a light over how they will carry the
things forward and equip their tutees with the key managerial skills. “Developing Intercultural
Competence at the Workplace” will give me a chance to discuss the various topics with the people
of other cultures, this module is specially designed to build up an ability od discussion and sorting
out the things with colleagues. “Leading Strategic Decision Making” is tailored to develop the
Organization Strategy, Team-Follower relationship and Systematic Innovation skills.

FUTURE GOALS:
After earning this degree, I’ll come back to my homeland, Pakistan, that’s lagging in
business professionals. I will have the opportunity to work as a Manager, Liaison Officer or
International Relations Manager at different firms like Interloop Ltd, Zameen.com, Daraz.pk or
National Logistics Cell.
 I’ll have the golden opportunities at global level as well and use my full protentional in a
vibrant environment. I will be honored to serve Ali Baba group, One thousand walls, Majid al-
Futtaim or Mitsubishi group.

Given a chance, I’ll all of my dreams into reality.
