ACTIVATE THE POWER OF HOLY SPIRIT (Christian Santana, SOT Preaching

Test 20 May 2019)

Introduction

How many of you have been watched Avenger-The End Game movie?

Don’t worry friends, I will not spoil the story. I will not tell you that Iron Man is..and

Thor is getting..Captain Marvel come and..Oops! >.<

I just want to tell you that my favorite character in the Marvel universe is THOR.

Why? Simply, because Thor is son of Odin, “god” of thunder. Just like each one of

us, we are the son of God, real and living God. Not “god” in the story like Odin.

In the year of 2011, Marvel release the movie of Thor. When I watched that movie, I

was shocked because the story of Thor, in many ways, relate to our Christian life. He

got the power from his father. He wears armour that give him strength, he has a

mighty hammer weapon named Mjolnir that can only be lifted by him, because he is

worthy.

Then in the movie of Thor, because of missed understanding happened between

Thor and his father, caused his father angry to him and taken away all of his power

and send him to the earth together with his hammer weapon. (walk)

But, because of Thor has lost his power and identity as son of Odin, he cannot lift his

hammer anymore. (act) He must live on earth without his power and find out how to

re-activate his power in order to be able to went back to his planet, Asgard.

Now, before we continu, lets pray.

Abba, Father, thankyou for Your presence in this place. We surrender this time

into Your loving hand. You work in our heart, Holy Spirit flows into our life

rightnow. In Jesus name. All the God people says. Amen

As a Christian whom live our journey on this earth, God give us weapon and power.

Ephesians 6:17 (NKJV)

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word

of God.

So, the sword of the Spirit is our weapon. Tell to your neighbour, the sword of the

Spirit is my weapon.

Just like Thor in the movie, we have received our weapon but we don’t know how to

use that. We don’t know how to maximize the power of our weapon and used it

effectively in our life, in our ministry.

Today we will learn how to activate the power of Holy Spirit.

Body

1. Letting Holy Spirit control our mind.

Lets open our bible to Romans 8:6 (NLT), I will read the New Living Translation

version for us.

So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the

Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

3

We was a slave of sin for many years, until we accept Jesus as our saviour and His

blood cleanses us and bring us into repentance. But we still have that sinful nature in

our flesh. The good news is, God never let us to fight alone, He gave us weapon.

And our weapon is? Sword of the Spirit. God gave us Holy Spirit so when we listen

to the Holy Spirit we have power to fight our sinful nature. So we need to letting Holy

Spirit to control our mind so we can win against sin and lead us to life and peace as

the result.

2. Affirm that we are the children of God.

Romans 8:16 (NKJV)

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

The Holy Spirit that God gave to us is the witness of our identity as the children of

God. We had received baptism in Holy Spirit and Holy Spirit dwells in us, this is the

proof that we are the children of God. We know that the Holy Spirit dwells in us by

receiving the gift of tongue. When we able to speak in tongue it is proven that Holy

Spirit dwells in us, and the next thing that we need to do is to align our understanding

with the Holy Spirit as the witness that we are the children of God. Affirm that we are

the children of God as our identity.

3. Pray in Spirit.

Romans 8:27-28 (NLT)

And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the

Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know

that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love

God and are called according to his purpose for them.

4

Sometimes we don’t know how to pray. We don’t know what God want us to pray for.

The Bible says that the Father, who knows all the hearts, knows what the Spirit is

saying. We must trust the Spirit to pray for us, because the Spirit work in harmony

with God’s will, and God knows what the Spirit is saying so He will make everything

around us work together for our goodness. How powerful is that! Praying in the Spirit

is like pulling the trigger of the gun to release the power of Holy Spirit.

Conclusion

After we letting Holy Spirit to control our mind, and we affirm our solid identity as the

children of God, we must release the power of Holy Spirit by praying in the Spirit.

That is the way to activate the power of Holy Spirit. (act)

Now we can use the power of Holy Spirit to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse

lepers, and cast out demons. Just like what Jesus have done in His ministry on

earth, even more.

Romans 8:11 (NLT)

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as

God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies

by this same Spirit living within you.

We have the same Spirit with Jesus that dwells in us. We are able to do ministry like

what Jesus did on earth, even greater.

John 14:12 (NLT)

I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have

done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.

AMEN! Lets pray together. (pray in tongue)

5

Prayer and altar call

Lord, we thanked You for Holy Spirit that you gave to us. We thanked You for

making us worthy. For making us your children O Lord. Holy Spirit dwells in our life,

we surrender our mind to You, let You to control our mind. Teach us how to pray in

Spirit. So Your mighty power overflow in us. We surrender our life to You, use our life

to do miracles and wonders in the ministry. So people will see and experience Your

mighty work, Your name be glorified, and people come to worship and praise You. In

Jesus name we pray. Amen!
