Climate Activism Workshop Info Hub

Introduction
This document is a hub of information for the Watkinson School 2021 Social Justice Day
“Climate Activism” workshop, led by Jona Ruser and Owen Chambers. This workshop is a
partnership of two larger Capstone Projects, relating to dietary impacts on the environment and
ecosystem conservation, respectively. More on these Capstone Projects can be found below.

1. Speakers Notes/Research
This is a hefty, albeit messy compilation of our notes relating to this workshop. These
notes also functioned as makeshift speakers notes during our workshop. If you’d like an idea of
how our workshop worked, a skim of these notes and our presentation (below) would suffice. A
more detailed analysis is provided on each of our websites (below).

2. Slideshow
This is the visual provided during our workshop. This presentation, accompanied with
our speakers notes (above) would provide an accurate representation of our workshop. A more
detailed analysis is on each of our websites (below) following the completion of the workshop.

3. “Activists vs. Corporations” Game

This is the handout for the game which was played during the workshop. The purpose of
this game is to provide reasoning behind why it can be difficult to incentivise governments to
make legislation that positively impacts the global climate. This document comes with
instructions to play the game as well as the resources needed to play it.

4. Bibliography
This is the bibliography of all of the facts provided in our workshop, in MLA 8.

5. Jona’s Capstone Project

This is the hub for Jona Ruser’s Capstone Project, on the dietary impact on the
environment and the human body. It includes a full-length research paper as well as a third
product which is TBA.

6. Owen’s Capstone Project

This is the hub for Owen Chambers’ Capstone Project, on the factors of a successful
environmental restoration effort. It includes a full-length research paper as well as a third
product which is a case study of a struggling ecosystem.
