Duterte, it is evident that the purpose of the speech was conveyed clearly to its audience which was about the strengthening of the relationship of the Philippines to the China specifically in terms of economic relations and the cutting off ties of the Philippines to the Americans in military and economic engagements. Thus, the first principle of effective oral communication which is about being clear with its purpose was followed in a way that the objective of the speech which was to persuade and inform the audience is achieved. However, I find that some parts of the speech has neglected to follow other principles such as being complete with message delivered, being concise and being natural. The message delivered was incomplete for me in a sense that the speaker was being biased and subjective of his claims regarding the Americans.
