before this manual.

before you start maintenance.
As a result of research and improvements regarding this product, some details of this manual may not
be the same as those for the product you purchased.

2-2. Memory switch setting method


Change to memory switch mode

(While holding down the SEL key and the FUNC (function) key, press the power ON switch.)
Lastly, change the setting and confirm the change. The memory switch number will then be displayed.
Select a memory switch number

• When the D key is pressed, the next number is displayed.
• When the C key is pressed, the previous number is displayed.

* When the A or B key is pressed, a search starts for memory switches


which have a different current value to the initial value.
When you press the B key, the previous corresponding number is displayed,
and when you press the A key, the next corresponding number is displayed.

NOTE:
If the SEL key (1) is pressed once more, the ABCD indicator
will switch off and the display will return to the memory switch
number display.

* If the setting value is different from the original details, the setting value will flash.
* If you would like to return the setting which is currently being displayed to the

default value, press the key.

NOTE:
The changed settings will be enabled after memory switch
mode has been exited.

・ You can switch to this display when the number of stitches for each step have been set.
・ If the start backtack, end backtack or continuous backtack keys are pressed so that the corresponding indicator
illuminates, you can switch to the number of backtacking stitch display.
* For a pattern other than pattern 1, when the continuous backtack key is pressed so that the indicator illuminates, the
pattern will change to pattern 1. In this case, the pattern display will change to “1- “.

・ If the start backtack or end backtack keys are pressed so that the indictors mentioned previously are switched off, the
display will switch to pattern display.

・ The thread trimming disable/F1 key can be used to set the automatic thread trimming function. (Setting is possible for
patterns 2 to 9.)
If you press the key so that the indicator illuminates, automatic thread trimming will be enabled.
After the number of stitches which have been set (start and end backtacking, fixed sewing) have been sewn, thread
trimming will be carried out automatically. Sewing will be carried out automatically for the number of stitches which have
been set (start and end backtacking, fixed sewing, thread trimming) simply by depressing the treadle once.
* For pattern 4, setting is possible when memory switch F405 is set to “ON”.
* For patterns 5 to 9, the setting can be made for each step.

・ The AUTO function can be set using the slow start/F2 key. (For pattern 1, the AUTO function can be set when the
indicator in the continuous backtack key is illuminated.)
If you press the key so that the indicator illuminates, the AUTO function will be enabled.
Sewing will be carried out automatically for the number of stitches which have been set (start and end backtacking, fixed
sewing, thread trimming) simply by depressing the treadle once.
* For pattern 4, setting is possible when memory switch F405 is set to “ON”.
* For patterns 5 to 9, the setting can be made for each step.

NOTE:
The thread trimming disable and slow start functions cannot be set in this display mode.
Press the FUNC key to switch to pattern display before making these settings.

[Restricting settings]
・ If the number of step stitches is “0”, the settings will not be stored, even if the settings for start backtacking, end
backtacking, AUTO and automatic thread trimming are enabled.
(The settings will be cleared when changing step and changing pattern operations are carried out.)
・ If start backtack settings have been enabled for steps 2 onward, set automatic thread trimming to be enabled for the step
immediately preceding. (If automatic thread trimming is not enabled, the start backtack setting will not be stored even if
you set it to be enabled.)
・ If automatic thread trimming is not enabled, the end backtack setting will not be stored even if you set it to be enabled.

When an adjustment value is changed, the needle up and needle down signal positions will change. Other
settings such as solenoid operation timing and needle up/needle down stop positions will change in line with
this.

* If you press the SEL key once more, the display will return to
the adjustment item display.

4 (Adjustment value) • When the D key is pressed, the setting value increases by 1.
• When the C key is pressed, the setting value decreases by 1.

* If the adjustment value is different from the original value, the adjustment value
will flash.
* A setting value of “10” corresponds to an angle of rotation of approximately 10°
for the upper shaft.

Confirm the adjustment value The setting value will be stored and the display

DANGER
Wait at least 5 minutes after turning off the power switch and disconnecting the power cord from the wall outlet
before opening the face plate of the control box. Touching areas where high voltages are present can result in
severe injury.

Use the following procedure to set the operating positions for the depression stroke.
NOTE: If the slide switch (SW1) on the main P.C. board has been moved to a position other than the middle position,
initialization cannot be carried out. Move the slide switch (SW1) to the middle position (factory default position) and
then carry out the following operations.
(Refer to “3. SLIDE SWITCH (SW1) SETTING METHOD” for details on the slide switch.)
Change to treadle position adjustment mode

“FF x.x” will appear in the display (1).

Store the maximum forward depression amount

NOTE:
・ If you do not press the ENTER key, the settings will not be stored.
・ If the treadle is not operated correctly, “E091” may be displayed. If this
happens, after “FF x.x” appears in the display (1), repeat the operation from
step 2.
