Fallacious Feminists

Mahatma Gandhi, an Indian lawyer and political ethicist, once said, “Be the change that

you wish to see in the world” (“Mahatma Gandhi Quotes”). This statement evokes wide-eyed,

newly inspired faces excited to be the change; however, it also produces a question: what kind of

alterations does the world need? In 1765, the response to this inquiry was a newfound

government, while in 1929, it was food and shelter. Now, that answer is a bit more complicated.

Instead of focusing on something new, society has turned to an issue that has been apparent for

years: equality. From race to social status, people have tried multiple times to ensure the

Declaration of Independence’s statement “all men are created equal” is accurate and true. This

itself is fine; however, in some cases, there is the problem of misinformation, misinterpretation,

and misleading evidence. This is apparent when it comes to equality of the sexes as feminism, a

group claiming to fight for women’s empowerment, has instead created a barrier between

females and society. The feminist movement is irrelevant and detrimental to today's society as

abortion is legal, women can get higher-paying jobs, and there are things the movement cannot

change, such as physicality or personal aspirations--differences that have come to separate

civilization.
