ABSTRACT

Currently the case of environmental pollution is the major concerning issue of the world due
to the gradual increasing of waste plastic disposal into the environment. From theses
environment polluting things Plastic wastes and solid sludge are the major polluting things
throughout the world. To reduce this problem by utilize plastic wastes of polyethylene
terephetalet(PET) as binding agent, river sand to support structure and hardens. The
production steps include raw materials preparation, melting the waste plastic, mixing molten
plastic and sieved river sand. The production of floor tiles was analyzed for their physico-
mechanical characteristics such as flexural strength, water absorption, thermal conductivity
and compressive strength. To produce floor tile from those wastes, major factors are ratio of
raw materials, particle diameter of sand and melting time of plastic. These factors have a
predominant effect on final quality of floor tile. The ratio of waste plastic(PET) 35% and
river sand 65% are using according to ( the literature survey) and the melting of Waste
plastic is 170 degree Celsius according to( the recommended maximum blending
temperature). Particle size diameter of sand for floor tile will be set at 0.3 mm from literature
survey. In general, the low-density polyethylene plastic wastes can be used for the
production of floor tiles in the presence of the reinforcing river sand. Here, the plastic waste
will be used for binding purpose and it can be potential substitution for cement in the
production of composite floor tiles. Finally, those proposals will be indicated the work plane
of time schedule and total cost estimation of time required material express.

Key words

Plastic wastes, low density polyethylene (PET), river sand, flexural strength, physics
