The story of Lizzie is similar to what I experience since high school and 1 st year college, but in my parents the

main problem was the dept and financial problem. I was born on poverty too, in the family my father is the one who
work and his salary was not enough to us because the salary is for paying the dept and us, we don’t have a stock food
just the rice and water in the house. We are 3 siblings, we are enter the school with no pocket money and only we
have food. I experienced it for several years. Now I graduate senior high and I want to go to college but my mother
says no because we don’t have enough money to pay tuition fees. So I worked in Baguio as a maid for 2 months
because I want to earn money so that I support my studies. But before I work, I took a scholarship exam at different
Universities in Pangasinan. A few days passed by and I passed my exam at UCU and my mother saw it on
University Facebook page, she is so happy. So, I told my ma’am to go home for at least 2 days to take care of my
requirements. My mother support me in my studies and 2 months passed by and I returned home with money that I
earn and give the half money to my parents. Before the class start is I bought only 1 pair of uniform and I didn’t
spend more money so that I recycle all my old notebooks and also my old bag. My mother give me a 1 pair of black
shoes given by her friend and I’m so happy. 1st year college was a very hard time but I can manage it because I have
3 days classes every week I find a part time job again and I was able to work in a JED Bakery for almost a year. I
support my self and my parents and I’m happy to help them, until I survived the 1st year and before my 2nd year start
is I looked for someone who help me in financial assistance and I met a woman who is member of ASA and she
help me so I take the exam and I passed it again so I’m very thankful to ASA PHILIPPINE FOUNDATION for
helping me, even though there was pandemic, I continue to work and I work with my mother so we help my father
and now I’m blessed that our life was better that before. And now I was study hard and looking forward to graduate
in college and have a work and own business.
