Opening:
- Before beginning the TV news, a man was singing in past continuous: “I was
cleaning you were cooking, he was playing they were looking, Side by Side”.
Blackout:
- During this part of the video, Bob Rogers and Jackie Williams made an
introduction of the blackout that happened last night in Centerville. Then,
she communicates with Scott Mason who’s standing in downtown at the
moment.
Scott Mason in downtown:
- Scott says that everybody in town is talking about what happened last night.
He proceeds to ask the people who were passing by, what were they doing
at the time the lights went out.
- The first man who was interrogated by Scott said that he was washing the
dishes while his wife was bathing the baby.
- The second person was a lady, who said she was washing her clothes at
the laundromat when the blackout happened.
- The third person said that she was watching TV with her husband while her
children were doing their homework.
- The last person that Scott talked to, was a young man. The boy didn’t notice
that the lights went out at all. He said, he was listening to music.
Gloria Rodriguez at the main office of the Centerville power company:
- In this part, Gloria is interviewing the company’s director, Mr. Watts. He said
they are not sure of what caused the blackout, but they are working on it.
The only information Mr. Watts gives is that it was raining when the lights
went out in Centerville.
- Gloria asked Mr. Watts that there was a rumor stating they were celebrating
a big party, and no one was looking out the controls. The director said that
was not true, and he assures they were working as usual.
- It seems that Gloria does not believe what Mr. Watts said about the party.
Bob and Jackie talking in the studio:
- Jackie asked Bob what he was doing were the last went out, and Bob said
he was washing the dishes and his wife taking a bath.
- Then, Jackie said she was still working in the building when the blackout
occurred.
 - After that, she told Bob that the Station Manager and his wife were trapped
inside the elevator.
First Propaganda:
- A man and a woman came into the house. The woman said she saw the
man getting out of a taxicab, but she was wrong. The man said he was
cooking dinner at that time.
Second Propaganda:
- This publicity was about people who need eye examination or glasses.
During the scene, two gentlemen were talking, and one of them said to the
other he saw him jogging through the park at 4 o’clock. The other guy said
that he was playing tennis at that time. Then, one of them tries to read the
paper but he can’t see well.
Back on the new, robbery yesterday afternoon:
- Bob makes an introduction about the matter, and then he communicates
with Maxine Baxter who is at the crime scene.
- Maxine said that all the apartments were robbed yesterday afternoon, and
no one was there at the moment. She asked them what they were doing.
- The first person said he was washing his clothes at the laundromat. The
second person said she was visiting a friend in the hospital. The third one
said they were having a picnic at the beach. The fourth person said he was
playing tennis in the park. However, the other people who were interviewed
by Maxine were not there at the time the robbery occurred.
- The victims of the robbery are upset and can’t believe what happened
yesterday.
- The police are still investigating this unfortunate event.
