Instructions:

Online Listening Task: 10 % (CLO 2)

The task is assessed to address the following Learning Objective:

Analyse a wide range of concrete, abstract, and familiar texts and verbal
communication to identify the language forms and functions, and to obtain
straightforward and complex details. (C4, ILO2)

- Individual Online task.


- Students listen to two audio recordings and answer 10 multiple-choice questions for
each.
- Submission: Students may submit their task via Google Forms
- Due: Week 9

Writing Task (Report Writing): 30 % (CLO 3)

The task is assessed to address the following Learning Objective:

Write clear, connected and detailed texts on a wide range of subjects which are
familiar and within students’ field of interest by synthesising and evaluating
information with a degree of grammatical control. (A2, ILO4)

- Individual task (in class)


- Students are required to prepare a draft (10%) and write a report (20%) based on stimuli
given.
- Students are required to analyse and synthesise the data given in the stimuli.
- Marks will be awarded based on the following criteria: format, language, content, and
task fulfilment.
- Time allocation: 1 hour
- Students are reminded not to plagiarise the report. Should plagiarism be detected,
students will be penalised, and marks will be deducted.
- Due: Week 7

Speaking Task: 30 % (CLO 1)

The task is assessed to address the following Learning Objective:

Present a clear, prepared oral presentation with a degree of fluency and accuracy
on a wide range of subjects within students’ field of interest by providing relevant
explanations or arguments. (A2, ILO4)

- Group task – Students are divided into groups of four (4) to five (5).
- Students are required to produce a video recorded demonstrative speech.
- The students will prepare their task based on the topics provided by the instructor.

Video Presentation (20%)


- The duration of the video should be around five (5) to eight (8) minutes.
- Each group member must demonstrate their parts/topics.
- The video is compulsory to have opening and credits.
- Marks will be given based on the rubric.
- Due: Week 12

- Group Task is maintained whereby students are divided into groups of four (4) to five
(5).
- Students are required to produce a video recorded demonstrative speech individually.
- The students will prepare their individual video based on the topics/themes provided by
the instructor.

- Presentation of reflection (10%)


- Individual Reflection (replaces the in-class video presentation)
- Students are required to present on their own and record their presentations.
- Each video (demonstrative speech and individual reflection) will be submitted to their
group leader.
- Group leaders will compile individual videos and submit them online.
- The compiled videos will be submitted in MyGuru. Submission via other platforms is
accepted too if students face difficulties in accessing MyGuru due to heavy traffic.
- Due: Week 12

Final Assessment (Reading Task): 30% (CLO 2)

The task is assessed to address the following Learning Objective:

Analyse a wide range of concrete, abstract, and familiar texts and verbal
communication to identify the language forms and functions, and to obtain
straightforward and complex details. (C4, ILO2)

- The task consists of a section:


 Section A (30 marks) – 3 Reading Passages with 10 open-ended questions for
each passage. (Total: 30 MCQs)
- Students will be given 1 hour to complete the task.
- Submission: Students may submit their task via Google Forms

juices), etc.
4. How to use presentation tools?
- Creating a presentation using Prezi, PowerPoint, PowToon, etc.
5. How to prepare any DIY?
- Using tools and equipment, making crafts or furniture from recycling things,
etc.
6. How to groom professionally?
- Makeup tutorial, clothes tutorial, etc.
7. How to do Interior Designing?
- Decorating a living hall, rooms, kitchen, etc.
8. How to fix things? (computer, antivirus, gadgets, electrical, engine, etc)
9. How to play games? (Sports, Indoor/Outdoor, PUBG, Online games, etc)
10. How to play a musical instrument? (guitar, piano, violin, etc)
