II. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. What is the significance of studying the different system modeling methods?

It is vital to have knowledge and understanding regarding different system

modeling methods to have an accurate analysis and evaluation towards
specific system. Each distinct system has a different response from the other
which is why it is important to be equipped with such knowledge, and skills.

2. Why is it necessary to convert the transfer function model into state space
model?

Transfer function form and state-space form are two ways to represent a
system. A specific system is converted to either of the forms depending on
the need or situation. For one, a specific form is transformed to another
depending on the classes of variable of the system.

3. Compare the results in No. 2 and No. 4. What can you say about it?

The results in No. 2 and N0. 4 are identical since eigenvalues are special set
of scalars associated with a linear system of equations such as matrix
equations that are sometimes also known as characteristic roots,
characteristic values, proper values, or latent roots.

4. What is meant by zeros and poles?

The frequencies at which the value of the denominator and numerator of a

transfer function are zero are known as the poles and zeros of the transfer
function. The values of a system's poles and zeros determine whether or not
the system is stable and how well it operates.

5. What is an eigenvalue of a matrix?

The eigenvalue of a matrix is the value that would yield 0 when it is multiplied
by an identity matrix then subtracted from the actual matrix. It is a square
matrix that represents a conversion on some vectpr space.

III. CONCLUSION AND GENERALIZATION

This laboratory activity was successful in its objectives as I was able to be

familiar with the different system modeling methods and represent it using the
Matlab Software. I also learned how to generate different system transformation
using the Matlab Software. Additionally, I was able to extract data from an
existing system model using Matlab Software. Likewise, I was able get
acquainted with the pole-zero map and generate it using Matlab Software. Lastly,
I learned the different functions on how to know the properties and description of
different LTI models using Matlab Software.
