been used.

Unusual Fire & Containers are equipped with pressure and temperature relief devices, but rupture may occur under fire conditions and toxic
Explosion Hazards decompisition by-products may be formed if used in fires over 500°C.

SECTION 4 – Physical Hazards

Stability Unstable Stable X Conditions to avoid Decomposes under fire conditions above 500°C

Incompatibility (materials to avoid) Active metals, aluminum dust and fires involving metal hydrides.

Hazardous Decomposition Products Thermal decomposition at temperatures above 500°C forming hydrogen fluoride and hydrogen chloride.
These by-products have a sharp irritating odour. They are dangerous in low concentrations, and in sufficient
concentrations can result in personal death or injury.

Hazardous Polymerization May Occur Will Not Occur X Conditions to avoid N/A

SECTION 5 – Health Hazards

Threshold Limit 580 ppm is the TLV/TWA or WEEL. Note: the effects of exposure to NAF S III should disappear quickly after removal from exposure.

Routes of Entry Eye Contact : Liquid form of this material can produce chilling Skin Contact: Evaporation of liquid from the skin can
sensations and discomfort. produce chilling sensations. Frostbite
can occur

Inhalation: Vapour is heavier that air and can cause suffocation by reducing oxygen Ingestion: Ingestion is not likely to occur since
available for breathing. Breathing very high concentrations of vapour can this material is a gas at room
cause lightheadedness, giddiness, shortness of breath, and may lead to temperature.
narcosis, cardiac irregularities, unconciousness or even death.

Signs & Symptons – Acute Dizziness, impaired coordination, reduced mental activity, and cardiac effects an occur. Unconciousness or even
Overexposure death in high concentrationswith longer exposures.

Signs & Symptons – Chronic None know when occupational exposures are below the TLV.
Overexposure

Medical Conditions Generally Cardiac problems.

Aggravated by Exposure

Chemical Listed as Carcinogen or National Toxicology Program: No I.A.R.C Monographs: No OSHA: No

SECTION 6 – Emergency & First Aid Procedures

Eye Contact Immediatly flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 20 minutes while holding lids open. If redness, itching or a burning sensation
develops, get medical attention. Treat for frostbite if necessary.

Skin Contact Wash the material off the skin with copious amounts of soap and water for at least 15 minutes. If redness, itching or a burning
sensation develops, get medical attention. Treat for frostbite if necessary. Do not give adrenaline/ epinephrine.

Inhalation Remove the victim to frresh air. If cough or other respiratory symptoms occur, consult medical personnel. If not breathing give artificial
respiration, preferably mouth to mouth. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Consult medical personnel.

Ingestion Ingestion is not likely to occur since this material is a gas at room temperature.

SECTION 7 – Special Protection Information

Respiratory Protection Not normally necessary if controls are adequate. For high concentrations exceeding 10% (NOAEL), or if exposure is
(Specify Type) prolonged, use positive pressure air supplied respirator.

Ventilation Local Exhaust: Recommended to control Mechanical (General): Recommended in low areas or indoors where
exposures. vapours may collect.

Protective Gloves Neoprene or Viton if working with liquid Eye Protection Chemical goggles recommended. Full faceshield in addition
or if splashing of liquid form is possible.

Other Protective Eye wash and safety showers are good safety practice in work areas when working with liquified product.
Clothing or Equipment

SECTION 8 – Special Precautions & Spill/Leak Procedures

Precautions to be Taken in Store as liquified compressed gas in AS2030 complying cylinders away from high temperatures. If cylinders are not
Handling & Storage connected to a system, they must have safety caps to protect against actuation of valva and erlease of agent.

Other Precautions Note incompatibility information section 4.

Steps to be Taken in Case Evacuate area; ventilate to outside atmosphere. Cool or remove hot metal surfaces or sources of non-extinguished
Material is Released/Spilled flames.

Waste Disposal Methods Dispose of in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
