Statement of the Problem

The main problem is stated in declarative form and should reflect the title; integral with it
is the objective of the study. The specific problems are written in question form.

Sample: This phenomenological study explores the views of the students whose parents are
OFWS. The central question of the study is: What perspectives do students have relevant to their
parents being OFWS?

Assumptions

There must be research assumptions that anticipate the finding of the study, which later be
used in the interpretation of data. Usually simple assumptions are written for qualitative research
since we cannot predict yet what storie and experiences your respondents have to tell.

Sample: The researcher assumes that teacher view loans as an augmenter.

Importance of the Study

a. Describe the contributions of the study to the discipline as new knowledge.


b. Cite the usefulness of the study to specific groups, arranged the general groups to
specific individuals.
c. The benefits of each group/individual must be directly stated.

Sample: This study will mostly benefit the following:

The Department of Education will work in hand.......

The Senior High Students will be benefitted......


Scope and Delimitation

Sample: This study dealing with the reasons of students dropping out make use of the case study
design. The respondents of the study are the drop out students from Candon City Division both
senior and Junior High School.. The study will be conducted ftom month of December 2016 until
the second semester of March 2017. Students who refused to be interviewed are not considered
respondents of the study.

Definition of Terms

a. Include only key terms from the title and research problems
b. The terms should be arranged alphabetically and should be defined operationallly using
complete terms.
c. Conceptual or :dictionary” definitions should be documented as to references.
d. A term may start with its conceptual and followed by its operational definition.
e. Usualyy a maximum of 10 terms are defined in qualitativre research.

Survey of Related Literature and Studies

Literature (Foreign & Local)

- These are reading, concepts taken from books, articles among others that relates to the
main variables of the study.

Studies

- These are readings, findings even conclusion of previous researches that have bearings to
the study..
