Ziyarat-e-Warisa

This ziyarat is one of a set of rituals Imam al-Sadiq (a) taught Safwan al-Jammal for pilgrimage of Imam al-Husayn. It is
recommended to be recited on Thursdays.

‫ز رت وارث‬

ِ ‫ـَ ُـ ِة ا‬ ‫وار َِث آ َد َم‬ َ ْ‫ا َّ ُم َـ َ ـ‬

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Adam, the chosen one of Allah

ِ ‫وار َِث ـ ُ ٍح َ ــِ ِ ا‬ َ ْ َ ‫ا َّ ُم َـ‬

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Nuh, the Prophet of Allah

ِ ‫ا َّ ُم َـ َ ْـ َ ـ وار َِث إ ـ ا ـ َ َـ ـ ِ ا‬
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Ibrahim, the friend of Allah

ِ ‫َـ ِ ا‬ ‫ــ‬ ‫وار َِث‬ َ ‫ا َّ ُم َـ َ ْـ‬

Peace be upon you. O inheritor of Musa, the one who talked to Allah

‫ُرو ِح ا‬ ‫ا َّ ُم َـ َ ـْ َ ـ وار َِث ـ ـ‬

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Isa, the spirit of Allah

ِ ‫وار َِث ُـ َـ ـ ّ ٍ َـ ـ ِ ا‬ َ ْ َ ‫ا َّ ُم َـ‬

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Muhammad, the beloved friend of Allah

ِ ‫ا َّ ُم ـَ َ ـْ َ ـ وار َِث اَ ِ ا ُ ِ َ َو َ ِ ا‬
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Ali, the commander of the faithful and the friend of Allah

‫ا َّ ُم َـ َ ـْ َ َ ـ َ ُـ ـَ ـ ّ ٍ ا ـُ ـ ـَ ـ‬
Peace be upon you, O son of the Muhammad mustafaa

‫ا ـ ـ‬ ‫ـ‬ ‫ا َّ ُم ـَ َ ْ َ َ ـ‬
Peace be upon you, O son of Ali Murtazaa
 ‫اء‬ ‫ا‬ ‫ـ‬ ‫ا َّ ُم َ َ ْ َ َ ـ‬
Peace be upon you, O son of Fatema,

‫َ َ ا ُـى‬ َ َ ‫ا َّ ُم َ َ ْ َ َ ـ‬
Peace be upon you, O son of Khadijatul- kubra

‫َر ا ِ وا ـ َ رِ ِه وا ِ ـ َ ا َ ـ ُ َر‬ َ ْ َ َ ‫ا َّ م‬
Peace be upon you, O he who fought in the way of Allah and the son of one who fought in the way of Allah

‫اَ ـ َ ُ اَ َّ َ َ اَ َ َ ا َ ّ َة َوآ َ َ ا َّ ة‬
I bear witness that verily you established the prayers And gave the zakat (prescribed share) to the needy

ِ ُ ‫َـ ِ ا‬ َ َ َ ‫َواَ َ َت ـ ُ ِ وف َِو‬

And commanded to do what is right and lawful And not to do that which is wrong and unlawful

ُ ‫َو َا َـ ـ َ ا َ َو َر ـ َ ُ َـ ّ اَ َ ا َ ـ‬
And obeyed Allah and His Messenger until the inevitable came unto you

َ َ َ َ ً َ ُ‫َـ َ ـَ َ ا ُ اُ َ ً َ َـ َ ـ َ َو َ َ َ ا ُ ا‬
So, Allah curse those who killed you And Allah curse those who wronged you

‫ـ‬ َ ِ ََ ِ‫ـ‬ ِ َ ً َ ُ‫َو َ َ َ ا ُ ا‬

And Allah curse those who heard the event and rested satisfied

ِ ‫َ ِ ا‬ ‫ا‬ ‫َ ي‬
O My Master, O Aboo ′Abdullah!

‫ِب ا ّ ِ َ ِ َوا ر ـ مِ ا ُ َ َ َ ِة‬ ‫ا‬ ‫ُ را‬ َ ُ ّ َ‫اَ َ ُ ا‬

I bear witness that verily you were a light in the sublime loins and purified wombs

ِ‫ُـ َ ـِ ـ َ ا ـ ِ َّ ُ ـ َ ِ ـ ـ‬
The impurities of ignorance did not even tough you

ِ‫ُ َ ِ ّ ِت ـِ ـ‬ ِ َ ِ‫َو َ ُـ ـ‬
Nor could its soiled and dirty bearing ever smear you
 َ ِ ُ ‫َواَر ِن ا‬ ّ ‫َو َا ـ َ ُ أ َ َ ِ َد ِ ا‬
I bear witness that, verily, you are the mainstay of the religion, and the supporter of the faithful ones

‫َو َا َ ُ اَ ّ َ ا ـ م ا َّ ُ ا َّ ـ ُ ا َ ّ ـ ُ ا َّ ّ ا ِدي ا َ ِ ُي‬

I bear witness that, verily, you are a pious, God-fearing, favorite, wise And rightly guided (Imam)

‫َو َا ـ َ ُ اَ َّن ا َ ّ ِ ُو ْ ِ َك َ ِ ُ ا َّ ـ ى‬
I bear witness that the Imams, in your progeny, are the words of piety

‫ا ُـ‬ َ‫ا‬ ‫َوا ُـ َّ ُ َـ‬ ‫َواَ ـ ُم ا ُ ى َوا ُـ و ُة ا ُ ـ‬

And the signs of guidance And the safe handle of Islam, And the decisive argument for the humankind.

ُ َ ‫َـ َـ ُ َواَ ـِ َ ُ َو ُر ُـ‬ ‫َو ُا ـ ِ ُ ا َ َو ـ‬

I call Allah to give witness, and also His Angels And His Prophets and His Messenger

ََ ِ‫و ا‬ ‫ُ ٌ َـ َ ا ِ د‬ ِ‫ـِ ـ ُ ُ ِ ٌ َو ـِ ِ ـ‬ ّ َ‫ا‬

That, verily, I believe in (all of) you And that I am sure of your Return Joined to the divine laws of my belief and my
accomplishments

‫ِ ٌ َواَ ي ِ ْ ِ ـ ُ ُ َّ ـ‬ ِ َ َ‫و‬
And my heart is resigned to yours And my conduct is following the example of yours

ُ ‫اَ ـ ـ ِد‬ َ ‫َو‬ ِ‫اَروا ـ‬ َ ‫َو‬ ََ ‫ـَ َ ات ا‬

Blessings of Allah be on (all of) you and on your souls And on your bodies

ِِ ‫ـ‬ َ‫و ـَ َ اَ ـ ـ ِ ُ َو ـ‬
and on your forms and (when) you are in view

‫ــ ـِ ـِ ـ‬ ‫وـ‬ ‫ـ‬ َ َ‫َو ـ‬ ِ‫ـ ِ ـ‬ َ َ‫َو ـ‬

and (when) you are out of sight and on your style and on your substance.

ِ ‫ا ـ ـَ ـ ِ ا‬ ِ ‫َ ْ َر ُـ ِل ا‬ ُ‫َو ا‬ ‫ـ َ ـ أَ ـ‬
My father and mother be sacrificed for you, O son of the Messenger of Allah! O Aba Abdullah!

َ َ َ ِ‫َ ُـ ِ ا َّز َّ ُ و َـ َ ِ ا ُ ـ َـ ُ ـ‬ ََ
 Verily terrible was the calamity and your su ering casts gloom upon us

ِ ‫ا َّ ــ‬
‫ات وا رض‬ َ‫ـ َـ ــ ِ ا‬ َ ‫َو‬
And upon all the people of the heavens and the earth.

ِ ِ‫ِ ـ‬ ‫َـ ْ َو َـ َ َ ت و ـ ـ ـ‬ َ‫و َا‬ َ َ‫ـ َـ َ َ َ ا ُ اُ ـ ً أ‬

Therefore, curse of Allah be on the people who saddled up and gave rein to their horses and prepared to kill you.

ِ ‫َ ْ ي ا ـ َـ ـ ِ ا‬
O my Master, O Aba ′Abdullah!

‫َ ْ َ ِك‬ ِ‫ا‬ ْ َ َ‫َوا‬ َ َ َ ‫َ َ ْ ُت‬

I moved towards your sacred shrine and came to visit you

‫اَ ـ َ ُ ا َ ـ ِ ـ ن ا َ ي َ َ ِ َ ُه‬
I beseech Allah by the status that you enjoy with Him

ِ َ َ َ َ ‫َو ـِ َ َ ا َّ ي‬
And in the position that you enjoy with Him

ٍ ّ َ‫ُ َـ ّ ٍ َو ِآل ُ ـ‬ َ َ َ ‫اَن ُ َـ‬

To send blessings on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad

‫َوا ـِ ة‬ ُ ‫ا‬ ََ َ َ َ ‫َواَن‬

And keep me with you in this world and in the Herea er

ِ ‫ــ َ َر ـ ُ ِل ا‬ َ َ ‫ا ّ ُم َـ‬
Peace be upon you, O son of the Messenger of Allah.

ِ ‫ـ َ َ ـِ ِ ا‬ َ َ ‫ا ـ ّ ُم َـ‬
Peace be upon you, O son of the Prophet of Allah.

َ ِ ُ ‫ا‬ َ‫ـ َ ا‬ َ ‫ا ـ ّ ُم َـ َ ـ‬
Peace be upon you, O son of the commander of the believers

ِ ‫ـ َ ا ُـ ـ ِ ا ـ‬ َ َ َ ‫ا ـ ّ ُم‬
 Peace be upon you, O son of al-Husayn the shaheed (martyr).

‫ا ـ ّ ُم َ َ َ ا ُّ ا َـ ُ وا ـ ا ـ‬
Peace be upon you, O martyred one and the son of the martyr

ِ‫ا ـ ّ ُم َـ َ َ ا ُّ ا َـ ـ ُم َوا ـ ُ ا َ ـ ُ م‬
Peace be upon you, O the oppressed one and son of the oppressed one.

َ ‫اُ ً َ َ َ ـ‬ ‫َو َ َ َ ا‬ ‫َ َ َ ا ُ ُا ً َ َـ َ ـ‬
Curse of Allah be on those who killed you. Curse of Allah be on those who persecuted you.

ِ ِ‫ـ‬ ِ ََ ِ ِ‫ـ‬ ِ ‫َو َ َ ا ُ ُا ً َـ‬

Curse of Allah be on those who heard this even but rested satisfied.

ِ ِ ‫َو َ ا ِ َوا ـ َ َو‬ َ َ َ ‫ا ـ ّ ُم‬

Peace be upon you, O the saint of Allah and son of the saint of Allah.

ُ َ‫َ ُ ِ ا ُ ـ ـ‬ ََ
Verily terrible was the calamity

َ ِ ‫ـَ ِ ا ُ ـ‬ َ َ‫َو ـ‬ َ‫َو َـ ّ ِ ا َ ِز ُ ـِ َ ـ‬

And your su ering casts gloom upon us And upon all of Muslims

ِ‫ا ِ َوا ِ َ ـ‬ ِ ‫َواَ ـ ُء ا‬ َ َ َ ً ُ‫َ َ َ َ ا ُ ا‬

So, curse of Allah be on those who killed you And I disconnect all links with them and turn to Allah and you.
