RESEARCHING AN ELEMENT

Your task is to become an expert on one element!

 Choose one element. Choose one that you have already heard a little about, not
some obscure element!

Now research all that you can about that element:

 Atomic number
 Atomic mass
 Numbers of protons, neutrons and electrons
 Drawing of an atom, including the electron shells
 Position in the Periodic table
 Metal or non-metal
 Characteristics
 Why is it important or what is it used for?
 Interesting or fun facts

You do not need more than the resources below. If you Google search, you may waste a
lot of time and come up with information that is not really useful and is hard to
understand.

The UK’s Royal Society of Chemistry has produced an interactive Periodic Table,
which has a stack of data and information on it. Exploring it will be fun; understanding
it all may be tough!
