RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter included the research design, respondents of the study,

instrumentation, data gathering procedure and statistical treatment of the data that the

researchers used in the study.

Research Design

The researchers used the descriptive-survey research design method to determine

the frequency, distributions and significant relationships in determining the level of the

career preparedness of the Grade 12 General Academic Strand students in Tagaytay City

Science National High School S.Y. 2019-2020.

Descriptive method is used when we gather information on current situations. It

includes the process of fact finding, interpreting, collecting data and answering the

questions in the study.

Population and Sampling Procedure

The respondents of the study were the senior high school students under General

Academic Strand, specifically the grade twelve (12) students of Tagaytay City Science
National High School. There were ( ) senior high school students chosen as respondents

of the study.

This study was conducted in Tagaytay City Science National High School. The

respondents were the grade twelve (12) students under General Academic Strand because

this is one of the schools in Tagaytay City that offers the said strand.

Research Instruments

The questionnaire was the primary tool used to gather data on the work

preparedness of the students. The questionnaire was divided into three parts, namely;

Mental, Emotional and Decision Making.

The researcher with the guidance of his thesis adviser modified and finalized the

survey questionnaire adapted from a tested source.

Data Gathering Procedure

The recipients of the questionnaires were the senior high school grade twelve (12)

students in the responding school. The researchers asked permission from the subject

teachers for a ten minute conduct of their research survey. After the approval the

researchers diligently administered the test to the respondents. They used the most

common way in doing the questionnaire which is the pen and paper to collect data.

The survey was conducted on the ( ) of the present year.

Statistical Treatment of Data

This study used the following statistical tool to attain its goals.

Chi-Square Statistical Test – for significance testing and in determining significant

relationships.
