Mammals are typically land
dwelling animals who have
vertebrates and are warm
blooded. They have hair or fur,
give birth to their young, and feed
their babies milk. Animals include
cats, dogs, and bears.

Reptiles are cold blooded vertebrates
that live on land. They have dry scales
and lay eggs. Alligators, snakes, and
lizards are some examples.
Amphibians are also cold blooded
vertebrates. They live in both land and
water and go through a process call
metamorphosis (grow lungs to live on
land). Salamanders and frogs are
examples.
Cold-blooded animals can be
defined as animals that cannot
regulate their internal body
temperature with the change in the
environment.
Warm-blooded animals are defined
as animals that can regulate and
maintain constant internal body
temperature.
Birds are warm blooded
vertebrates that lay eggs. They
have feathers and wings and can
typically fly. They have hard,
horn-like mouths and NO teeth!
Blue jays, penguins, and
hummingbird are some examples.
Fish are cold blooded vertebrate
animals that use gills to breathe
underwater. They lay eggs. Some
examples include sharks, fish, and
goldfish.
