ay pagkakakitaan. Kabilang sa mga maaaring gawin ng nasabing ahensiya o tanggapan ay
ang pagtakda ng kaukulang bayad.
Ang mga akda (kuwento, seleksiyon, tula, awit, larawan, ngalan ng produkto o brand
name, tatak o trademark, palabas sa telebisiyon, pelikula, atbp.) na ginamit sa modyul na ito
ay nagtataglay ng karapatang-ari ng mga iyon. Pinagsumikapang matunton ang mga ito upang
makuha ang pahintulot sa paggamit ng materyales. Hindi inaangkin ng mga tagapaglathala at
mga may-akda ang karapatang-aring iyon. Ang anomang gamit maliban sa modyul na ito ay
kinakailangan ng pahintulot mula sa mga orihinal na may-akda ng mga ito.

I. What I Need to Know
This Learning Activity Sheet will provide you exercises that will help you gain the various
skills involved in dance
Here are the expected objectives you should learn:

II. What’s In
Directions: Choose the correct answer in the box and write in a separate sheet of paper.
Arm Stretching Half-knee Bending Arm Circling Trunk Bending Inhaling- Exhaling
___________1. Slowly bend your trunk to the side, slide your hand down the outside of your thigh
and keeping your shoulder in line with your body.
___________2. Take your right arm across your chest and apply gentle pressure above your
elbow with your left hand to draw your right arm and vice versa.
___________3. Bend your left knee at the same time, lean the trunk sideways over the right leg
which should be kept straight at all times.
___________4. Tilt your head to the right, bringing your ear close to the shoulder then tilt your
head to the left.
___________5. Circle your arms forward using small controlled motions

IV. What is it
Dance is an activity where you move your body in time with music. Dancing is also a part
of human expression. It can be done alone, with partner, by small group or by a large group. You
can dance in a dance hall, dance floor, court, dance schools, clubs, dance studios, community
halls, or even in your own home. In this lesson we will learn the warm- up exercises before
dancing, basic dance steps, arm/hand positions and lastly the fundamental Dance position.

facing inward.

There are five fundamental or basic positions in dance that are commonly termed as 1st
position, 2nd position, 3rd position, 4th position, and 5th position of the feet and arms.

1st position
Feet: Heels close together, toes apart with an angle of about 45 degrees.
Arms: Both arms raised in a circle in front of chest with the finger tips
2nd position
Feet: Feet apart sideward of about a pace distance.
Arms: Both raised sideward with a graceful curve at shoulder level.
3rd position
Feet: Heel of one foot close to in-step of other foot.
Arms: One arm raised in front as in 2nd position; other arm raised upward.
4th position
Feet: One foot in front of other foot of a pace distance.
Arms: One arm raised in front as in 1st position; other arm raised overhead.
5th position
Feet: Heel of front foot close to big toe of rear foot.
