Way forward & The Big Idea

Nothing can sustain or continue without keeping pace with innovation. If Bangladesh cannot come up
with proper tech-based intervention in different business solutions, then the country’s economy will
face a huge risk in the sector of business. In order to do that, Bangladesh needs more and more
educated manpower and community trust to join the agricultural workforce.

As we know education is the pathway to innovation. So, in order to achieve and sustain innovation in
this sector, we have to connect the educated population to this industry.

Now the question is how to engage more and more educated youth and professionals to this sector?

In order to motivate the country’s educated youth and adult, we need the most
authentic and trustable voices to contribute. On that note, the noble job of Journalism comes in.
Although the journalists and faces who work in this sector have contribute a lot to highlight the works
and contribution of people. However, despite this prime need of getting our country’s journalists to
highlight this huge sector, the existing number of journalists working in this sector is barely sufficient.

Also, another important fact is, the existing journalist’s works are immensely unacknowledged by the
target groups. Additionally, their relentless work’s output has been undocumented. Due to that fact,
motivation to this sector for journalists has been very low. Although there are other factors attached to
it.

Why do we need to highlight agricultural journalists?

By acknowledging the journalists of the agriculture industry, more and more journalists and youth
enthusiasts will be motivated to this sector. Also, a notable documentation of the previous contribution
of agricultural journalists should be kept. Alongside, the policy development motivated by the journalists
should be recognized as well.

Journalists will be friendly and admire both the individual and brand who have been pulling this project
of highlighting agricultural journalist’s work, and going forward the good perception and opinions will
help both the brand and individual to make expected brand-image as needed.

Journalist Selection Process

 ACI will approach 80-100 prominent Agro-journalists from all over the country, across
different agricultural sectors to submit their notable contribution towards the sector.

 An independent jury board of 3 eminent experts will sort and select final 50 interviewees
under different categories

 President of Agriculture Reporters' Forum (ARF)

The following criteria will be kept in mind to select every interviewee

 Profile of journalist (Senior/Junior)

 Remarkable contribution in agricultural sector

 Direct/Indirect impact on farmer

 Direct/Indirect impact in policy structure/formulation

 Process
After getting the final list from the jury board the selected journalists will be informed and will call for an
interview session at their convenient time

A team from Offstage will take care of the full interview session, including arranging the session, venue
selection, questionnaires development, videography, photography, content generation etc.

Proofreading will play an important role, 1 or 2 prominent senior journalist/s or Editor/s will do the part

The final manuscript will be shared with ACI for feedback

After getting approval from ACI the book will be ready for printing

The interviews will be documented in videography for reference, social media post, and future usage

50 interviews will be published in the book. However, the other journalists will be featured on the next
edition. Also, well edited video documentary of the interviews will be provided.
