Introduction (5 mins):

 Go over the agenda

system
o Introduction to the cardiovascular system

o Chapter 15 worksheet & matching

“Welcome to class everyone. For those who do not have their cameras
on, let’s turn them on. I will start by going over the agenda for today.”

“Are there any questions from the past lessons?” Jam boards

“We are going to start with an entry slip. On D2L, I have posted a link
to the jam board. If you go to the cardiovascular tab and under the
newsfeed, you will see the link and the prompting question.”

Entry slip: What do you know about the cardiovascular system

Activity 1: Entry Slip (5 mins)


o Students will complete the jamboard entry slip
o This activity aids as a review tool to see what students
remind from sports medicine 10
o The jamboard will be already set up with the prompting
questions posted
o Once everyone has made a post, we will review it as a class

“Awesome work everyone. We will review the concepts quickly and get
started with the introduction PowerPoint to the cardiovascular system.

“If everyone wants to pull up their cardiovascular booklets. This is the


one I emailed you all.”

Activity 2: Cardiovascular PowerPoint (60 mins)
o We will start going through the PowerPoint
o Students will fill in their notes as we move through the
PowerPoint
o There are videos and images throughout the slides
o There are questions posted within the PowerPoint slides, such
as

Prompting questions:

 What is the average blood pressure for an adult?


 What does systolic mean?
 What is the largest and strongest chamber of the heart?

o We will go through the structures of the heart, blood pressure


and gas exchange topics

“Are there any questions regarding the information we just went over”

“What we are going to do now is label the heart. On D2L, I have posted
a link to an interactive worksheet. You will complete the worksheet,
then take a screenshot of your answers and submit it to the drop box for
completion marks.”

Activity 3: Labelling the heart (15 mins) Interactive

 After we have gone through the first part of the notes (heart structed
and functions)
 Students will label the heart
 This will be done through an interactive worksheet
 Once students have completed the worksheet, they will submit it to
the drobox on D2L

“Great work everyone on your worksheets. Are there any questions


about the heart structures and functions?”

“We will transition back to the PowerPoint and go over blood pressure”

Activity 4: Padlet Activity (10 mins) Padlet

“The next thing that we will do is a Padlet exit ticket. On D2L you will
find the link posted on the cardiovascular news feed.”
Exit Ticket: Tell me one thing you learned today

 After we have gone through the PowerPoint, students will complete a


Padlet activity.
 The purpose of this activity is to serve as an exit ticket

"Thanks for doing the Padlet, everyone. The last thing that we will do is
chapter 15. Like the other chapter worksheets, we have done, please
complete and submit both the worksheet and match tomorrow's class.
You can leave the google meet to complete your' homework.' I will stay
on the chat if you have any questions or message me on remind."

“If you do not have questions, I will see you tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of
your day everyone.”

Activity 5: Chapter 15 worksheet and matching (reminder of


class)
 Students will access chapter 15 on the sports medicine website and
submit it to the drobox that is under the cardiovascular tab
