Asepsis has been an important part of my clinical experience since day one.

The first

thing we learned was proper hand washing and operatory asepsis. I have known how to wash my

hands since I was a child. But it took the Dental Hygiene program to really make me understand

how critically important proper disinfecting is.

I remember setting up and tearing down my operatory practicing for test out day. I took

asepsis as serious as I did back then, as I do today. I have had the privilege of “practicing” for

the last 5 semesters now and I think it is safe to say I am 100% confident in my ability in

maintaining operatory asepsis.
