Best Business Plan and Pitching Competition 2021

I. NARRATIVE REPORT/ EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

“Innovative technologies Viable for Commercialization”

This is the theme in the webinar last friday April 23,2021. The program start at 9:00 am in the morning
attended by many students and different proffesors and special guest speaker from different Branches
and Campuses of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. It was held via zoom meeting because of
the pandemic. The main focus of the program is the presentation of the business plan coming from the
5-finalist of different campuses of PUP.
To start the event properly , they invited 2 guest speaker to share a lots of ideas , experience , lessons
and knowledge that will help future entrepreneurs to be successful in their journey. The first speaker is
Ms. Aiko A. Barcelon , the Health Education and Promotion Officer Policy Training Service of Food and
Drug Administration. She discussed the core function of FDA which is licensing of establishment that
includes manufacturers and traders , registration of health products such as drugs, foods supplement
and etc. included the inspection and enforcement. She also explain the significance of FDA, LTO, CPR in
health products that contains right amount of ingredients to assured the quality and safety . The second
speaker is Mr. Jonathan Co. , the sales and marketing manager of Manly Plastic Inc. , he mainly focus on
how their family became successful and growing continually since 56 years until now. Their first product
is a crates of softdrinks that they made into buckets. Until it will become monobloc collections and
school furnitures. His motivation was a “survival “ there is no shortcut to the success but it must be
analyzed and planned carefully and the most important the execution of plan.
Moreover after the speech of 2 guest speaker , the presentation of 5- finalist start. The three judges
are Mr. Edwin C. Pasahol the Chef Trade and Industry Development of Bureau of Small and Medium
Enterprise Development , Mr. Juan Pablo Gonzales , Head of Marketing Operation and Capabilities of
Rebisco Food Group Of Companies, and Mr. Jonathan Co. ,the Sales Marketing of Manly Plastic Inc. After
the presentation of business plan the winners are the Cocolicious Barquillos from PUP- Unisan (4 th place)
, Hiraya Manawari PUP Sta. Rosa (3rd place) , Rock N’ Guac PUP Taguig (2 nd place) and the champion
Suman Frunch from PUP Pulilan with the product core of “PUpinya Core Achara”.

II. LESSON/S LEARNED

The lesson I’ve learned in the webinar is all the essential goods and product approved by FDA will surely
ensure the safety and quality of every product and in the business industry we need to survive to meet
the ventures financially in a long term goal businesses . Also in creating a business plan we need to be
well organized and have an ideas to have a good outcome .

III. OTHER INSIGHTS ABOUT THE SEMINAR/WEBINAR

In the webinar aim to help the future entrepreneurs to encourage them in pursuing their passion
specially in taking businesses. The program also teach us on how to run the business properly by
undergoing registrations. And also on how the product develop and improve into new versions of the
business.

IV. CONCLUSION/S

I conclude that to be an entrepreneur you must know the business that you are going to build. You have
the love and dedicaton if you want to be success in your business. Also you need to believe in yourself
no matter the hard the situation is, you need to boost yourself confidence .
