The Bridge of Madison Country

1. What is the significance of the movie with regards of moral agent and

development of moral character?

The significance of the movie is we need to know the consequences of having an affair

with someone else. And to know that you are held accountable with your actions,

because we already know what is right and what is wrong. This movie show that having

an affair is not worth it and it’s not right. The significance of this movie is that it gives

you lessons and samples in life that your love ones will get hurt if you've done this. The

Bridges of Madison County is about two people who find the promise of perfect personal

happiness, and understand, with sadness and acceptance, that the most important

things in life are not always about making yourself happy because if it makes you happy

it doesn’t mean that it is always right.

2. Would you consider the decision of Francesca morally bad or good?

I will consider Francesca’s decision as morally bad because for me having an affair

with someone else is not good. Once you’re committed with someone you need to know

your limitations even though you’re not happy with your relationship you need to know

how to be contented because you settled with that marriage. There’s nothing wrong with
falling in love with someone, but when you’re committed you need to know that you

need to distance yourself to others because you can be tempted to cheat. And

Francesca is very wrong about what happen because she did not think of her children

and wife first, she became selfish. Francesca's love for Robert is the crowning event in

her entire life, but she cannot receive it because she believes in sacrifice and

convention. True love doesn't call for it. It only asks us to receive it from whatever

channel it comes from, conventional or unconventional. But to love a married person is

wrong, because there are someone that will get hurt, and that is your family.

3. What is the moral lesson of the movie?

The moral lesson of this movie is that you need to be contented on what you have

and love without hesitation. Once you’re committed you need to know your limitations

and you need to give importance on your marriage. Never settle if you’re not ready to be

committed with someone because time will come it can cause divorce. You need to

think twice before doing such things that you might regret in the future. We need to

make sure we listen to our hearts and not our egos which might be just trying to escape.

We must do so responsibly by facing our current partners as well as the issues

surrounding our relationship with them all of which takes courage. Because once you're

satisfied, it's good to live without hiding. For me, I want a relationship that has a strong

foundation that no matter what disaster came we are still together. Loving someone is a

decision in which you have to twice before doing such things that will get hurt your

partner. Everything in this world has it owns test to prove how strong and vulnerable

they are in life, Love is not an exception to that. The test of love in marriage or

committed people is not a straight track it's like the life at the end of the tunnel wherein
you get to go through the darkness and hardship that you will encounter together. Love

is a choice. We choose the people we love as they are and what they will become. And

if you are having a doubt about love always remember that with the love of God we are

able to appear and live in this beautiful chaotic world.
