BK2: Goal Setting: Write a Reflective Blog on your short-term goals.

I chose FEU because of the influence of my mother, she is a former student of FEU when
she was in college. Now while I’m studying at FEU, my short-term goal is to become a part of
FEU THEATER GUILD. Since I found out that there is a theater group in FEU, I dreamed of
joining and being part of this group because I think it could help me to enhance my skills
specially in public speaking, it can also help me to build my confidence and I know I can share
my talents with the help of this group. If I will be given a chance to be part of this group it would
be a great achievement for me because I can finally continue my passion. But since we are
currently in the situation of pandemic, I am patiently waiting for them to open the audition for
those aspiring students to become part of their Theater Guild.

The reason why I want to be part of a theater group here in FEU because I want to
continue my passion. Way back 2016, I became part of a certain theater group organization and
because of this organization I developed my skills and passion. Theater thought me that actors
needs to work together cooperatively for the success of the production, there is no space for the
actions of "us" versus "they", the "star" diva is a thing of the past. When you breach the team
spirit of a production, your peers will usually let you know. It is critical in theatre that each
person supports the others involved. Employers would be excited to hear that you know how to
be a team player. And now I know in myself that I am ready to face the challenges that I can deal
with and showcase my abilities and talents if I will be given a chance to join in FEU Theater
Guild.

Even though I have the strength to reach my goals I know there are things that can hinder
them and one of them is my studies. If I become a part of a theater group, my time and attention
will be divided into studying and achieving my goals because I need to commit not only to acting
but also to studying. I need to practice time management just to be able to fulfill my duties as a
student and as a part of a certain group. But despite of those hinders, I know I can deal with it
and I will continue what I started. Because when you love the things that you are doing, you will
do everything just to accomplish it even there are times that you no longer know what to do, you
need to fight for you dreams and for you to achieve them. Because according to the book I’ve
read “Do not downgrade you dream just to fit your reality. Upgrade your conviction to match
your destiny.”
