SCHEME AND OBJECTIVES

India has an aspiration to become $9 trillion economy by 2030, and to be the

world’s 3rd largest economy. This goal could be achieved only by increasing the
competitiveness in the market, attracting more investment and further creating
sufficient no of jobs for its young dynamic population. Recently India has
emerged as one of the fastest growing economy and in the report of world bank
ease of doing business it has ranked 130th rank among the countries due to its
strong vibrant economy. Further India’s labour force is expected to touch 160-
170 million by 2020 based on the rate of the population growth and this has
created an opportunity and challenge for the Indian economy. One of the road
maps towards this challenge is to develop the climate of entrepreneurship and
skill development. To evolve the business environment in India Govt of India
has taken a lot of steps including giving up incentives and subsidies under the
schemes like PMEGP to encourage the youth to opt for business as another
career option in contrast to other govt jobs. several schemes /assistances,
benefits are available to the entrepreneurs through different departments of Govt
of India.

PMEGP is one of the flagship programs of the govt of India’s to generate

employment opportunities in rural and well as urban areas through setting up of
employment generation units/micro enterprises. Under this scheme the total
project cost in case of manufacturing sector and service sector are should not
exceed 25 lakhs and 10 lakhs respectively. The quantum of subsidy under this
programme ranges from 15-35% of the project cost. With regard to the
eligibility, the applicant needs to be unemployed having age not below than 18
years.

INTRODUCTION
In almost every home there are horde of appliances that practically remain in
use throughout the day to provide us the comfort and easiness of life that we
deserve. We are really grateful to these appliances which are necessity of every
home. And if you are grateful to such appliances then you must care for them
too. The breakdown of electrical domestic devices is inevitable as machines
after long run tend to break down. At times they break down early due to misuse
or over use.

The electrical appliances like mixer/ grinder, Geysers, water heater, fan,
Iron, etc. are widely used in almost every house hold. The major manufacturers
are Usha, Bajaj, Crompton, Onida, Videocon, LG etc. These electrical
appliances do need periodic servicing, maintenance and repair actively. Though
there are a number of authorized repair & servicing centres, provided by the
authorized dealers network but still there is wide spread need of the repair &
servicing centers to cater the need of repair and servicing activity for these
appliances specially in semi urban and rural areas.

Major Appliances White goods/major appliances comprise major

household appliances and may include: air conditioner, dishwasher, clothes
dryer, drying cabinet, freezer, refrigerator, kitchen stove, water heater, washing
machine, trash compactor, microwave ovens and induction cookers. White
goods were typically painted or enamelled white, and many of them still are.

Small Appliances Brown goods/small appliances are typically

small household electrical entertainment appliances such as: TV sets, CD and
DVD players, camcorders, still cameras, clocks, alarm clocks, video game
consoles, HiFi and home cinema, telephones and answering machines. Some
types of brown goods were traditionally finished with or looked like wood or

10
Industrial and Engineering Consultancy ® (Govt. Approved),
Room no. 312, Lone building K.P Road Anantnag
Bakelite. This is now rather rare, but the name has stuck, even for goods that are
unlikely ever to have been provided in a wooden case (e.g. camcorders).
Another type of small appliances relates to heating and cooling such as: fans
and window mounted air conditioners, and heaters such as space heaters,
ceramic heaters, gas heaters, kerosene heaters, and fan heaters. Yet another
category is used in the kitchen, including: juicer-mixer-grinders, food
processors, electric kettles, waffle irons, coffee makers, dough makers, and
electric chimneys

MARKET POTENTIAL

This will be a service-oriented industry to cater to the needs of the repair &
servicing of Electrical Appliances. There is hardly any household which does
not possess these items. In course of time, these items/ appliances need periodic
servicing and repair requirement, therefore, there is a tremendous scope for the
growth of these repair & servicing centres, especially in semi urban and Rural
Areas, which can be undertaken by the educated unemployed youths of the area
with a little skill development without much capital requirement.

LAND AND BUILDING

The promoter namely FAISAL AHMAD NAATH S/O SHAKEEL AHMAD NAATH
R/O NAATHPORA KHANABAL ANANTNAG Kmr has arranged land & building
on rent basis at PETROL PUMP MATTAN ANANTNAG Kmr for setting up the
proposed unit. Also, the proposed location for the unit has all the infrastructural
facilities viz power supply, water supply, road connectivity etc for the unit to
become functional and run smoothly.
