PROBLEM:
With the ever increasing domestic tourism in the country especially coastal destinations
within the Philippine archipelago, a group of young investors headed by Bing Go selected a
potential new destination abound by beautiful natural spots and endless bounty of marine
products. With such quest, the group selected the Municipality of Palanan in the province of
Isabela having the criteria they are looking for with a new point of interest, the Benham Rise, now
named as Philippine Rise. The new improved feeder domestic airport added as a perfect
government facility which will substantially increase visiting tourist. The investment, after several
study arrived with finality decision, that the group will construct a multi-story BEACH RESORT.

LOT:
The project, to be constructed on a newly purchased beach-fronted lot with an area of
area of 6,000 square meters, with dimensions of 50.00m x 120.00m with shorter sides facing the
major road and east, the other shorter side faces a 50.00m unalienable sand easement sloping
slowly towards the sea. The longer sides have minor streets leading towards the beach front.

TASK:
You, being a young architect was given an opportunity to design the beach resort facility.
It shall exude a distinct character which will showcase the beauty of the province of Isabela. It
shall be well-built to withstand the ever presence of strong wind associated with each typhoon
passing the island of Luzon. The design and construction shall be of latest modern trend in the
hotel industry integrating current available products, technology in character and construction.
Ground floor finished level shall be 1.00m from the established street crown. Also, it shall have a
headroom clearance of 6.00m in the check-in hotel lobby and in the piano lounge. . All mandatory
hotel administrative spaces for the proper operation of the hotel is left to the young architect’s
research.

SPACE REQUIREMENTS:
The requirements shall not be limited to what was stated below but rather explicitly
mandatory spaces/areas. You as the designer, was given free hand to add necessary spaces for
the proper operation of the terminal building. The separation of departing and arriving passenger
facility is a primordial importance requirement
