I am writing to express my strong interest in a full-time elementary teaching position for the 2021-2022
school year. I believe my previous experiences and skills as an educator make me well suited for this role.

This past school year, I have had the wonderful privilege of teaching grade 2 at Eileen Madson Primary
School. As my third full-time teaching position, this opportunity has allowed me to grow in confidence as
a teacher. Teaching in these unique times, more than ever before, I have learned the importance of
building and maintaining strong relationships built on mutual respect and trust with my students. I have
made sure my classroom is a warm and welcoming environment for my young learners, while still
maintaining current health protocols. The relationships I have built with my students have served as a
foundation for my classroom management, and I have fostered a successful classroom learning
environment. During this unique year, I have had the opportunity to further develop my ability to
effectively and professionally communicate with parents on an ongoing basis, to discuss student success
and well-being. It has been a very rewarding year at EMP and I have enjoyed working alongside and
collaborating with some incredibly skilled and passionate educators.

My past teaching experiences include teaching grade 4 at J.A. Laird Elementary School during the 2019-
2020 school year. In the spring of 2020, I navigated continuing learning virtually using new technologies
and platforms during the start of the pandemic. The skills and knowledge I gained from this exceptional
time as an educator will help me in my career for years to come. Previous to my position at J.A. Laird, I
taught K/1 at Windermere Elementary School. In this combined grade teaching setting, collaboration and
a working partnership with my teaching partner, enabled us to effectively differentiate and address
learning outcomes for our students. I began my teaching career as a TTOC with Canadian Rockies Public
Schools in Banff, Canmore, and Exshaw, Alberta. I also worked as a short-term full-time kindergarten
teacher at Exshaw School, teaching students from the Stoney Nakoda First Nation. Before this, I had
student teaching practicum experiences in kindergarten, grade 3, and grade 5/6.

I believe that my experiences along with my motivation, patience, and passion for learning make me the
ideal candidate for an elementary teaching position at your school. Thank you for your consideration and I
